So I ended up purchasing the IN1 Case and it came in the mail today. My gf opened it up and she said the biggest thing that blew her mind was at how thin the case was and she attached her phone to it and she said it was the same size as her slip on and she loved it had a bunch of stuff and tools and now wants me to order her one as well lol. I will write a review and post up pics of it when I get home.

This Spigen Neo Hybrid EX Slim in Dante Red has become my favorite case.

Goes on easily and come off easily. Looks really sharp too, super light weight and thin. Much better than the bumpers of years ago.

Easy to see from across a room when I lay it down. I use it without the screen protectors provided.

My wife's new 5S in the Spigen Neo Hybrid EX Slim in Satin Metal case. Back screen protector on. Front too. Small bubble at bottom disappeared later.

    Looks great.

Pretty Charlyee. They look really fine. Let us know how it holds up with grime. Lots of back and forth on that. I wouldn't expect much grime built up from my other leather case experience- non apple types.

    Thought about getting one too

Thanks Vf, you should get one.

I am not too worried about much grime build up. I wiped some stains of my iPad case with a damp cloth and it cam off really well.

Though both the case are of the same material and color, the iPad case feels little more smooth and supple, perhaps it has just been handled more.

I might. But I'm very happy with the Spigen bumper. Easy to take off and on too.

Both cases are holding up quite well. I like the feel of the phone case more, the iPad one seems a bit slick.

I use a damp cloth to clean soiled areas, mostly the on/off switch cover.

    Go for it vf. ;)

Do you take it off much? How has it been to remove and replace? I've read it very tight.

I do take it off but not often and yes it is a snug fit but not that tough to remove.

So what color do you have in mind? :D

Actually although I'm intrigued, I'm so so so happy with my Spigen Bumper that I don't feel the need to switch. The whole family has one now and equally happy.

Easy to remove without marring the fine beveled edge. Amazing how light it is without a back cover.

I'm sucker for leather though. And I do have the Hint and Sena both in brown/tan. So , I'm good for now.

Makes sense, Sena makes gorgeous leather cases, I had a red and tan for my last handheld and remember getting lots of compliments on it.

I do like my Apple case, not sure I would be comfortable using only a bumper without a back cover.

I had an Apple like leather case for my iPhone 4 & 4S, which I really loved. It had a flush front lip and open top/bottom that I wasn't keen on. But I know that you like that.

The Apple version is different, with full coverage.

I understand the concern with bumpers. The back lip is a bit more extended than the front, which is good, and I figured that if I'm safe with no screen protector on the front, whats the difference having none on the back? I've used it since July and it's been great! The buttons are real smooth since that part is silicone. For my wife I placed on the three part supplied back screen. It's unnoticeable on the white phone, but more so on the slate so I don't use one. Plus my wife never takes her case off; I do sometimes. The reviews of this bumper slipping off occurred to me a bit, but the newest one I and my family have, that problem has been solved.

I especially like having the actual back of the phone fully exposed, showing off the slate and black glass. You can feel the slimness of the phone too.

Sort of the same eye appeal as a women in an open back evening dress. ;)

Here's a deal: you try the Spigen and I'll try the Apple case...then we can both return them!

Sorry Vf, no eye appeal here, all I visualize is a scratched up Apple logo on my pristine phone.

    So "no deal" :D

    LOL, No?

I can understand. I'm within 9 months of my next upgrade though. It's been 6 months with no scratches too.

If it does scratch...well, I can hide it with the Apple case then! And who is the wiser? :O

BTW, this phone is pristine too because it is a replacement from the old 5, which has a spot on the lens. I did notice on the 1st iP5, that my SwitchEasy Tones case marred the polished black bezel finish on that phone, even though the materials, polycarbonate, should be softer than aluminum.

The Spigen bumper is not hurting this phone at all. So I do worry about cases that fit too tightly like that Tones.

As an aside, the bumper design is quite ingenious. I didn't like Apple's first bumper with the 4/4S..it was too wide and long...and also marred the SS finish for some users. The Spigen is much slimmer and thinner too.

I played around with a naked phone with my own little 4 silicone feet bumpers (see OP in this thread) on the back...like my MacBook Pro...it worked quite nicely...but doesn't really protect the edges or the back...now I realize the cleverness of the bumper...basically fulfilling the same purpose of little bumpers on a laptop...but protecting both front and back and all sides. Perhaps the original Apple bumper was not only about protecting against antenna gate!

    Cases, cases, cases......

    Viewfly,

I got the OtterBox Commuter Series Case in black for my 5s as part of a bundle at the Verizon store ($50 bundle which included a case up to $34.99, screen protector 3 pack, and a car charger).

    Mojo Refuel Removable Battery Case

This iBattz Mojo case may interest a few people that need one.

If you can't have replaceable iPhone batteries...you can get replaceable case batteries!

    Clever idea. Great reviews too.

Same size as the Mophie Helium battery case...except this one has replaceable batteries...I9300 size (i.e. the Samsung S3 2300 mAh batteries).

Extra batteries can be replaced, without removing the iPhone 5 battery case, or turning the phone off. I read that the extended S3 battery can even be used.

Mojo Refuel Removable Battery Case for iPhone 5/5S

There are separate versions AND attachments to the Mojo case that will give it water and more rugged drop protection.

I prefer the external battery packs for now, but I could see having a need for this type, if you wanted it on the phone, and just carry around spare slim batteries. Or have a really long few days of heavy use.

    - - - Updated - - -

Whoops, meant to put this in the Apple, cases, cases, cases thread.

    A little mod help please!

I am rethinking my options as to what case I should invest in.
The minimalistic cases only protect it from cosmetic wear as I found out the hard way yesterday.
I dropped my 5C getting out of my car yesterday.
And the screen shattered, it was not a hard drop, and not very high. And it fell back down, go figure. I have a Genius appointment this weekend.

Thanks VF. I do not have insurance.
I also would never use home owners insurance for my phone.
When I bought the phone, Apple care was an extra $100 I didn't want to spend.
IMHO, in most cases, insurance is not worth the monthly cost.

Unless they're really nice ( I've seen it happen). It will cost $149 to replace the screen. While-U-wait

Apple quoted me $140, and while you wait. I have to give Apple credit. They do have excellent support.

Just for the record Apple Care Plus is very much worth it and if you get another iPhone in the future get it. It's only $100 and gets you two years of software support plus two years of hardware. You also get two accidental damage claims with a deductible of only $79 for an accident. This makes Apple care plus Cheaper than carrier insurance on a month to month basis and the deductible is far lower. The only bad thing is Apple Care Plus does not cover lost or theft but other than that it's the best insurance you can get with a deductible far cheaper than any carrier insurance I've seen.

I agree with Dan, AppleCare is worth it. But it doesn't cover loss or theft as Dan says.

So to protect from loss and theft for my iPhones ( and damage to my older Macs), I added Home Computer Coverage to my House Insurance. It costs only $19/per year for $5,000 of coverage for everything. Including my iPhones. The deductible is smaller than my house policy, only $50 per incident. Last year Apple replaced a cracked Mac screen and another part ($400). I only paid $50, my house insurance paid the rest.

And like everything else, the loss, theft or damage can occur anywhere outside your home. They paid out as soon as I gave them the bill.

    A great deal.

Thanks guys. My problem was I paid full retail for the phone. So the extra expense I didn't want.
Now I am wishing I did, I'll talk to Apple and see what if any my options are.
