Do you use a case with your phone? Just interested how many people use cases or rock their phones case-less. Please explain "other" if selected
I voted other. I usually go with a bare minimum shell, that protects the back, sides, and corners Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-ca; SonyEricssonX10a Build/2.1.A.0.435) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
Since I don't want to use a specifically designed cover/shell for the Droid X, I use the Verizon case made just for it instead. I DO NOT want to scratch the screen. The Droid X screen is amazing and I want to keep it that way. I've tried screen protectors and they're awful. So mine is in a case 99.5% of the time. Covers/shells add excess bulk to an already pronouncedly large phone, so the case works perfectly for me.
I voted Always use a case 24/7. Even though what I use is not considered to be a case (it is a shell/snap-on cover), I always have it on my Droid X. Like Charlyee said, my cover protects the back, sides, and corners of my Droid X. I have an Anti-Glare Screen Protector installed on my screen, so it is protected. Here is a picture of my cover:
(I'm moving this poll & thread to the General Wireless forum, since it is on-topic.) I voted to no -- I've never had a case. I probably will use one in the future because screens are more prominent.
I use an Apple Bumper on my iPhone 4 occasionally. However, I have the screen and back covered with Invisible Shield. So far, no scratches or blemishes.
I used a case on my Vibrant as it would slip out of my hand too easy. But on most of my phones and soon on my new Epic I carry it in a pouch. I don't like keeping my phone in my pocket,
On my pervious phone (Blackberry 9650) I had an Otter Box case and liked it, so I bought one again earlier this year when I got my Motorola Milestone. But after a while, I took it off. Largely due to the fact that I use my phone as a GPS navigation device and to put it in the dash-board holder meant having to take my case on/off all the time. Now I just keep the phone in my pocket, case-less, and it's fine. It's a sturdy enough phone that I've dropped it a few times and don't see any scratches or anything. Even if it does get beat up eventually, I get a new subsidised phone on-contract every 2 years anyway
I voted no because every time I buy a case, it ends up in the drawer collecting dust I do use a screen protector on my Incredible (a cheap, but durable Seidio)... The phone has a dent where it has been dropped on the street. The lens has a scratch on it The screen is good as well although the protector is scratched up LOL
I don't know if what I use is really considered a "case" since it only protects the back of the phone.
I think a case shows a part of your personality. It also protects your phone from unwanted damages. People often hate cases because they add bulk and look ugly. However, there are many cases that conform to your phone perfectly and add virtually no bulk, while amplifying its appearance ten folds.
I typically go with a case just to protect the phone. I can't stand my phone to get jacked up. Occasionally I will go without a case cause I think the phone looks better without it.
ZAGG Invisible Shield... so I voted other. The shield protects my phone from any scratches and dings as long as i don't drop it from too high up!
I've given up on nice cell phones, so I don't see purchasing a case to protect my Nokia 1616 when a case cost as much as the phone.
I myself, including all the other people in this world are not perfect. That is why I use a case to for protection, just incase I drop my phone. I've had many instances where I've dropped and cracked my phone. That is all the reason for me to keep it on 24/7. Also, it is a great way of accessorizing your phone.
Invisible Shield on my Droid X. Been rocking the shields since I knew what they were. Still occassionally use the OEM holster with the StarTac tho..
Only case I got was for my razr and I never used it. It didn't close right or something. No case for me!
I use a holster / belt clip for my phone, makes it more than twice as thick, and grippable LG AX4270 since 2006
As I am one who doesn't want to break/dmg/buy-one-get-the-next-one-at-a-higher-price/take responsibility for when "something" happens to it, I always use a case. I don't believe in Murphy's Law. I tend to believe in Ralphie's Law. :headscrat In A Christmas Story, despite all the warnings :nono: and his disbelief in those warnings :loony: , he did it anyway. :crying:
I voted at times, I usually have my screen protector on 24x7, it keeps the most important part (screen) safe. If a phone falls, odds are it will get some sort of damage with or without the cover. So whenever I go out for adventure, I do use covers. If I am at normal schedule, I prefer the elegance and beauty of my phone with just a screen protector usually from ebay or amazon. Good stuff around at good prices too, mine made me 12 bucks lesser from gearmaxx on ebay, not bad a deal. So to me, if I feel like I might need one, I put it on. If not I wonder around with a screen protector on top and that serves well. the beauty of cell phones and elegance are simply NOT visible with the cases on, just have a look at my little beauty. no ways I am going to put something on top of it 24x7. Real beauty, aint it? :browani:
Bumpers seem the best solution for me. They don't cover the back nor front. They provide enough standoff for both sides to lay down on a table or if dropped. and protect the edges where most impact occurs first. Or where contact is first encountered when laying on a table. And also allows the back to breathe to prevent overheating the battery during usage or charging. Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk Pro
This thread made me think of another Poll. How often do you drop your phone? Off to create the poll.....
I haven't used a case for quite a while as they tend to get in my way. I usually carry my phones in my front pocket with the screen facing me. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Depends on my mood. I am currently caseless at the moment. Last week, I used my Tech21 case on the Note 3. There are so few choices outside of the flip cases with a window. Ugh. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
