I get billed $1.99 every time someone in my family accidentally hits the Get News & Info choice under GET IT NOW. We don't subscribe to web or email on our phones so they bill us by incident. Is it possible to remove any of the choices that would attempt to access the web and result in a charge to me? Thanks for your help!

You can call Verizon and have them disable it or you can go into your WAP settings and change the IP so that it will not connect.

Thanks for the quick response! I tried the VZW fix and they have to disable pix sending and receiving, which my family did not appreciate. We have the low end text and pictures sending plans and that cuts out the picture sharing unfortunately.

I'd like to hear more about the WAP settings.

PS - I'm just now getting back in to my Razr as another phone failed and I had it as a backup in a drawer luckily. Now I have to remember how to do all of the changes that will allow me to use MPT, etc.

If you go into your WAP settings, simply change one of the proxy settings so that when you try to connect your phone's browser will not work, i've done this with my son's phone after i got a huge bill for internet use.

Sorry, I don't know what WAP settings are. I tried to search, but got nothing in return. Perhaps someone has a useful link?

WAP settings are the settings that enable you to connect to Get It Now.

Verizon may have disabled the capability of making modifications to your WAP settings, but if not this is how you get into them.

    Menu>Settings>Web Access>Web Sessions.

From here typically you can highlight the web session and hit the menu key. If that option does not exist then Verizon has disabled it.

Thanks Charlyee. When I go to Menu, Settings & Tools,...there is no Web Sessions, so I presume it has been hidden by VZW.

    Thanks for that Charlyee...

You know, forgot one minor detail, yours is a Verizon Razr.
I figured since the Razr has been out for years, the web sessions on your Razr were not restricted back then by Verizon...
However, you can still go into your WAP settings but if you're not too experience with modifying/hacking phones, this is not for you.

I am not very experienced with modding/hacking; however, I did successfully complete the seem edits to allow use of MPT a few years back when I first got the phone. I had to have the software updated yesterday when I switched back to it and it did not cooperate during the ESN change over process. I thought it was not going to be useable, but eventually it finished and they decided to update the software as a precaution. I assume that erased the seem edits it once contained and I will have to redo them when I locate my instructions. Then I'll be able to connect it to my PC with a cable and transfer files like in the old days :).

PS - I tried the thing you mentioned above and it did not work...
