Can I unlock an iPhone and use it on the AT&T prepaid pay as you go network?

    I want to buy an unlocked jailbroken iphone off ebay and then use my current SIM card I am using with an old nokia phone. I assume the phone and texting part will work, but I have been reading around the middle of 2009 AT&T decided to make some change to their network so the iPhone can't be used with the pay as you go plan. Is this true? Is there a way I can use a jailbroken phone on the AT&T network with a pre-paid plan?

    As far as I can tell from the web, pay as you go and the iPhone no longer work, in regards to Data certainly. If it does, it may be interrupted.

    Best to ask ATT directly. Go to a store and just ask. No harm in that.
