Can I get a f*cking normal ringer for my A500/Sprint?

I agree and no good screensavers.WTF--star trek??? No star wars??? Good grief....There has to be another site to get ringers from.Are they ever going to update that freakin sprintpcs.com site??

 

I just got the A500 today and I NEED A NEW RINGER too... this is ridiculous. I called Sprint and emailed Samsung. Sprint said that they should have some normal ringers soon because they've been getting a lot of complaints. Samsung just said that there were none available.. Just keep calling sprint and hopefully they'll get some soon...

 

But of course, those ringers will only be available to those that are subscribing to ringers and more, right?

I have the wireless web disabled on my phone...I surf enough at work, no need to do it on my phone. They really should make some normal ringers available to EVERYONE...not just those that are paying for the ringers and more.

 

I agree. There must be something I don't understand about Sprint's business plan. They insist on controling the whole process (ringers, data cables, screensavers, pictures, etc) but they don't offer serious support themselves! I have never faulted them for charging, but offer hundreds, even thousands of choices. They have had the same ringers and screen savers since the beginning! I like Star Trek as much as the next guy, but come on, offer some new catagories. The concept of paying for a tiny file the have 10% of the image be the copyright info is shameful. Why they think everyone want popular songs only is beyond me too. Hell, let people submit them, then charge for them! I wouldn't care...just add something useful!

 

Just for laughs--sprintpcs.com added some new ringers--espn tones and some new rock/R&B--just in case anyone was wondering-lol.

 

Here's something else I noticed. I had downloaded the Star Trek wall paper, accidentally deleted it, and went to download it again. Well, in my vault, I notice, that even though I had paid the $1.00 fee for the wall paper, it expires sometime in October. This tells me that even purchased content is only temporary. Like their so called "free" games.

If this is true, I'll be returning my phone in short order. So far, the PCS Vision is nothing more than a sink hole.

Yep. Games and other stuff expire.

Spint and VISION (especially) is garbage. I would never ever go back.

 

Are you sure the games expire and not the Demos???--I didn't see any expiration date for those screensavers either although i mostly did use the camera for screensavers.Ringers don't expire..do they??I thought the demos expired making you buy the actual game not demo.This is a very confusing matter---just whos right,and whos wrong??

 

I had the same assumption you have. But remember how I came across this... I deleted content on my phone and went to my vault on sprintpcs.com to download again. There was my purchased/downloaded content, the screensaver, along with an expiration date. Bare in mind, the itme in question is the Star Trek wallpaper, an item you can only get throurgh purchase. It is not a demo.

According to another thread here on Wireless Advisor, there are fees sprint has to pay to developers for content, hence the expiration date. You may want to review your agreement documentation to clarify all of this confusion.

 

Even games expire. I think ringers stay forever.

 

Hopefully we get to keep the ringers...it would be nice if sprint announced when its updating ringers and stuff.It might be my cpu--but at sprintpcs.com...i can't play the new tones-:sportscenter"anyone else have this problem or is it sprint as usual.

 

i am going to get the sanyo 5300 and pick up the cable for it $(30) plus the futuredial software $(30) which is out already for the 4900 (check their website) someone got it already for the 4900 and it lets you edit midi files to fit yer phone. you can get normal ringers this way. also use it to download images to yer phone.

 

You think the ringers are bad at sprintpcs.com--you should hear the crap from the T-Mobile site---aaarrrggghh.The ringers for the a500 sound much,much better then those.Yes-they got more-including house and trance--BUT THEY SUCK.It sounds like old gameboy music.Its just horrible.I think the only good tone was "halloween"-lol.

 

Check www.nickwinter.com/wireless/ringers.htm from your a500. Click on the ringer to download. They are normal ringers (at least more normal than Sprint's).
