I'm switching from a Verizon LG VX4500 to a Cingular Motorola Razr. Is there an easy way to transfer my phone book from my old phone to my new one?

Also, I'm having my phone number transferred. The new phone has been shipped by _____________ and is on its way to arrive in 2 days. Is it possible that my phone number will be transferred before my new phone arrives?
    thanks

On the Vz CDMA set the addresses are stored in the set. On the Cingular GSM phone the addresses are stored on a sim card. I believe that you will have to do them one by one manually.

They're only stored on the SIM if you store them there. On most newer phones you have the choice of storing contacts in the phone or on the SIM. Many people do not store any numbers on the SIM.

They should be able to. They usually do not charge you anything if you buy one of their phones.

Can you use some software to download the phonebook from one phone and upload it to the other?

Taking it Cingular would be your best bet. It only took them about 5 minutes to transfer my wifes over.

I know that and could have gone into more detail. My point was there is not a way for him to transfer the address book. I store my on the sim because I have three phones that I swap regularly. So the address book moves with the sim.
