Cameraphone Contest We have had some requests for a camerphone contest, so we're going to give it try. Anybody can submit a picture. The submissions will be narrowed done to ten finalists by three judges. The three judges will be Jay2TheRescue, rancidhooligan and Gamer03. The 10 finalists will then be voted on by everyone. The voting will start on November 1st and run until November 13. The judging and voting criteria for this 1st contest will simply be: "Which picture do you like the best?" Here are some rules and clarifications; The picture must be taken using a cameraphone with no modifications/alterations at all. One picture per user. (Swap out your picture if you take a better one before the deadline - no limit on swaps.) Any picture submitted by one of the judges automatically goes to the voting round. (That way they can participate also.) Your entry must be an attachment to your post in this thread. DO NOT use the [_IMG_] code for your entry. Please include the make and model of your cameraphone in the text of your post. Entries must be submitted by October 31, 2005. Voting starts 11/1/05 and ends 11/13/05. One vote per user. The voting will NOT be confidential. We reserve the right to reject any picture from the contest for any reason without notice. Please keep it clean. Everyone, except Admins., may enter this contest. The winner will get a stainless steel WA mug. (He or she may alternately choose a WA shirt, but only M & XL sizes are left.) The contest starts now - have fun! Post your submissions in this thread.

Here is my entry. It was taken on a trip I made to Sedona AZ last year. It is also in an earlier thread I had posted on my trip. Phone: Motorola V600
Here's my entry - My retro bachelor pad living room. I took this pic earlier this year with the craptacular VGA camera on my Motorola V551. Trust me, the pic looks great when viewed on the phone! Honest! I hope to see many fine entries in this contest. Good luck everyone!
Yeah, Eventually I'm going to get a TV from the 50's too. My grandfather has a console TV from the 50's. It doesn't work anymore. (I remember as a kid I used to play Pong on it when I visited Grandma). The cabinet is in almost mint condition. When I get it I'm going to take out the guts and set a modern TV inside it.
What is it with us, taking apart old stuff and shoving the guts from new stuff inside it? (Or, at least, wanting to, in my case.)
Yeah, you're right... so is hijacking threads but we should probably give it back to the contest. (Sorry, Joe, my fault. ) You may now return to your normally scheduled thread.
damn this is so depressing... i had some awesome pics on my first v600. but that thing broke, which is why i got the second one and you have now rancid . But no good pics on it. And I was in Bertioga today I wish I used my camera phone..
Joe, how can we swap the pic once the edit post limitation time period has expired? Those are some neat pics, guys , here is my entry (even if I'll swap it later): Pancake and ice cream anyone ?
This is a picture I have from the Independence Day fireworks in Boston... it was such a great show and it was the first time I was in my home city with all of my friends! It was great! But if I take a better picture tonight or tomorrow while I am in Brigança Paulista, I will replace it.
I was just thinking. Just go to your user control panel and click attachments. Delete the old pic so it no longer shows in the thread.
Good idea , I like that fireworks pic, Gideon . Perhaps you guys submitting the pic could also state which phone was used to take the pic. That would give us an idea of how the different pics came out. In my case, it was a Sony Ericsson T300 (my first color phone ) with the attached MCA-30 Communicam module: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pp4_1_1&zone=pp&lm=pp4_1&pid=10108
Here's a shot of Lake Tahoe that I took a few months ago on my honeymoon. This was taken from the top of Harrah's (I think), that is where their resuraunt is with a beautiful view of the lake. Taken with my then new E815 (wedding present from my wife ).
Yup, I don't know if I read #5 in JFB's first post when posting my pic. Anyway, now it's good to have that info.
Eek, apparently I didn't read the rules very well. Is it ok for me to say right here that I used my Motorola E398 to take the picture of the fireworks or should I repost the picture altogether? I would just repost it now but I am not home and even though the picture is in my attachments folder I can't seem to find a way to repost it.
Ok, here is my contribution to the cameraphone contest: The picture was taken yesteday evening just before a bad thunderstorm rolled through my area. I took the picture with my Motorola Razr V3.
Thanks Ryan. The quality would have been better if I used our VX8000. Yes, you do. If more people post pictures, it will make the contest more interesting.
