-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What determines if land would be ideal for a cell tower? RecentIy Sprint build a tower on land about a mile from our property. We do have over 80 acres of land and there are several high spots available. We live in Va zip code 23015. Our cell phone service is frequently unavaible and poor. Our only available internet service here is Hughs satellite company(wireless) and they are very slow. How do I contact the major companies and see if my land would be ideal for a tower. Our property borders Beaverdam, Spotsylvania and Hanover counties.
Instead of begging and waiting for your cellular provider to build a tower on your land (which will most likely not occur) I would look into cell phone signal boosters. I have a Wilson cellular amplifier in my vehicle and it makes my Sprint HTC Hero phone jump from a -94 to a -71 to-75 on average (from 1 bar to 4 and 5 bars). A lot less expensive and it works great for me.
Some companies used to place links in the corporate sections of their sites for people to submit addresses/parcel numbers they felt suited for land leasing. I am not sure they have such links any more, though.
