I have an iPhone where the glass is broken like the one pictured. Does anyone know if I need just the glass or the digitizer as well? All the functions still work, just the glass is cracked. Any help is appreciated.
I'm quite sure that's all built into the same part. You will probably have to replace the entire screen assembly to fix it, unless someone else here can chime in that's taken an iPhone apart. When I replaced the screen on my Tilt earlier this year all that was in one assembly. -Jay
Thanks for your response. I ask because there is just the glass portion that is for sale, and then there is the digitizer.
That is confusing. Every touchscreen I've ever taken apart the digitizer was built into the glass. -Jay
Jay, after your response and looking at the two pictures I have. The first being the glass and the second being the digitizer, I think you are correct that the digitizer must be purchased.
That's hard to tell, as the display was not working. I couldn't see where the on screen buttons were, or if pressing them did anything. -Jay
Okay, I think I am going to try the glass one as it's only $9.99 vs. $64.99 for the glass and digitizer. I just hope I don't break cable 4 when I open it up because that is a problem people seem to have when opening this one. I will let you all know what I find out.
Will do, it may be a little bit before I can post those. I also need to get a tiny Phillips Screwdriver.
When I bought my TIlt replacement screen I found an ebay seller selling the replacement screen, all tools required for the job, and instructions. maybe you can find something similar? -Jay
