Last night my fone went through the washing machine, and does not work any more.. I hear that getting a fone without a plan is expensive but i dont really know anything about it. the fone is a LG Vx4500 and the plan is verizon, and i was wondering if i would have to pay alot to get the same fone and just switch my plan over to that fone?

if its expensive should i just cancel my plan with verizon and just buy everything again?

If you cancel your plan you will have to pay the $175.00 ETF, and if you have more then 1 line on your plan then you would compound this by each line. So buying a new phone may be cheaper.
Did you have Insurance on the phone?
I don't know if you can buy a phone on Ebay & call Verizon with the ENS or S/N# to activate that phone on your plan, hopefully someone with Verizon can answer that for you.

If it is out of warrantee you might be able to purchase a refurb at a Verizon corporate store for $50+tax. I have done this twice.

Refurbished phones are as good as if not sometimes better than new.

Yeah, you can get a phone off Ebay. Just call CS with the ESN first to make sure they will activate it. Stolen phones get blacklisted and maybe even unsettled accounts. Once you've got the phone, you can switch to it at a store, over the phone, or online. Going to a store might cost $15, but online is definitely free.

It might be easier to just get a refurb.
