I am talking with a company that suggests a booster antenna. I live on a Lake southest of Dallas and seldom get a signal. Any ideas out there.
They don't work, I tried them and asked people here on WA about a year ago. It's like a piece of tape. I think I got even worse signal..
It may also be the phone you're using. Some phones have bad RF while other's have very good RF even in areas that have not so good service. Which phone are you using and with which company?
Sorry, I know about the sticker and also the liitle plug in that has a magnet that sits on top of the car. This is an antenna like a TV antenna that mounts on the house or poll that pulls the signal down ( I don't know what I,m talking about ). Costs about $200. Found it in the Internet ( gee , that's got to be a first ) so I called them and got pitch. I'm about to try anything. Henry
There are solutions that work, though. However, you need to invest some money. Check out these products: http://boatantenna.com/ http://www.antenna.com/trunking_cat/trkpg20.html
And this thread has some more sites for booster setups for homes & business. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/showthread.php?t=8634
There are a couple of different kinds of boosters. First, the little stickers that are made in China that are completely worthless. Somebody should be sued for false advertising! Second, booster systems (amplifiers and antennas) that actually boost your signal form 2/3 of a watt to 3 watts. If you have just a hint of a signal then you should be able to get out without a problem. You can check it out at www.wilsoncellular.com Good Luck!
What's sad is that you can walk into practically any electronics store and they continue to sell them!!! What is that about??
I highly recommend the Signal Reach products. We sell alot of those and they are very effective. My company truck is equipped and it easily stretches my range to 25+ miles from the nearest active cell. We can have the local site down for maintenance, and be talking on a distant site.
Many of the products are legal to purchase, but illegal to operate, you want to make sure that your device is not going to interfere with the local cellular company....they are getting legal departments involved when they come across it. And they are coming across it allot more than they used to.
Not sure about the other carriers, but we fully endorse them. The systems can tolerate them to a degree if setup properly. CDMA acts much more adversly to boosters than TDMA, but there can be harmony. As far as legal issues though, I'm not sure about specific output limits except for "near-body" requirements. The FCC limits most handheld mobiles to about 1/3 of a watt, or 300 milliwatts. External transmission systems are limited to 3 watts, but their are loopholes on that as well. Nokia had (may still have) a CDMA bag phone that runs 8 watts.
The Inteligain amplifiers are the best on the market at the best price . Yes better than Wilson and Signal reach. We offer full 30 day money back guarantee if the amplifier does not meet your expectations or our claims. Check them out WWW.MaximumSignal.com
Wilson makes a good product , but the Inteligain is better and a better price . Wait till the new Wireless Amplifiers hit the market in mid to late October , there is nothing else that will compare to them
