Hello all. I have a question about phones w/Verizon. Currently I am with AT&T (Cingular) and my contract is coming to end soon. I will also be moving to New Mexico within the next year or 2. I was looking at possibly switching carriers to another company. I don't a problem with Cingular, I can handle the dropped calls and customer service for the price I pay and the minutes I get (I get a good company discount + bonus minutes). I was thinkng of switching carriers (looking towards Verizon since they are #1 in almost everything), but are unattricted to the other carriers due to the lack of phones w/Bluetooth. I have a V600 and absolutely love the bluethooth capability (especially tied in with MP3 Ringtones). I have a bluetooth laptop, pda, and desktop so it's nice to send stuff back and forth. Does anyone know if Sprint or Verizon will be releasing any bluetooth phones in the future. I think sprint has released one, but I'm not too sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a nice article, but it doesn't say anything about if any bluetooth phones will be released. A Radio Shack worker told me that Verizon was going to be releasing a bluetooth phone soon. A guy at the Sprint Store showed me a "the only bluetooth phone they currently offer", but it wasn't a flip phone and I kinda like the flip phones. I was just wondering if the Verizon Bluetooth rumor was true and if Sprint was planning to release anymore bluethooth phones.

Easy buddy. Didn't mean to offend you. When I walked into the Radio Shack store I asked if they had any Bluetooth phones from Verizon. He told me they didn't have and that one would be comming out later this month. Not trying to pick a fight. Just get info. Thanks for the info though. Geez.

    Treo 650
    PPC-6600

Samsung & Sanyo need to step up with a offering or two. I don't understand why these two companies are dragging their feet with bluetooth. :(

Me neither. I want Bluetooth. Guess I'll just have to get back with Moto when the v635 comes out.

Unfortunately, clerks sometimes may be new or poorly trained and not well informed what they have available. Also non-Sprint retail outlets that carry SOME of Sprint's phones (i.e. Best Buy, Radio Shack, Costco) automatically limit your selection.

Sprint's website or call the 800# is the best source for what Sprint has. Currently Sprint has 4 Bluetooth phones: LG 325, Treo 650 , PPC 6600 and PPC 6601.

This may be the start of a trend for Sprint since all of these have been released within the last few months and the Sprint stores carried no Bluetooth phones for a long period previous to that.

lots of orange, a little Little Rock blue
    Both have several.

Do be aware that Bluetooth on any VZW phone is only partial Bluetooth -- VZW requires that manufacturers disable the file-transfer functionality (OBEX), so about all you can use BT for with a VZW phone is headsets and tethering. Yes, VZW did this even on the Treo 650.
