I have a V3M and just purchased the Jabra BT250 stereo headset. I can make and recieve calls but can't ge the music to flow. Is the bluetooth software not compatable for stereo sound and is there a download to make it work? My provider is Sprint.

I don't think the phone has the stereo BT option enabled from the factory. I think you have to hack the phone to make it work. Maybe someone with a little more experience with CDMA phones can chime in here.

I have a question, what kind of bt headset does everyone use? And why? I use this car kit when I'm in my car: OTTO Car Kit and this headset when I'm not: OTTO headset I always use a bluetooth headset with my cell phone now. I use them because I feel funny putting a high-powered tranceiver to my head has got to be a bad idea. I don't like to give money to the cell service providers so was happy to find a company like OTTO. Both the products I have by them have great sound quality and were cheap.

I have 4 or 5 BT headsets, but only 2 different models. The Motorola HS820 and the Motorola H700. Both are very high quality, but the sound quality of the H700 is a little better, and the H700 can go into standby mode when you put it in your pocket so it doesn't make calls when you bump it. For those reasons I like the H700 the best. With both of the models I use I get a range of over 100 feet. If you are satisified with what you have I wouldn't change though.

Gotchya. I am satisfied with what I have, really like Otto as a company. I've had them for a lot longer than other bt devices too, which speaks to their durability. Range could be better, I guess, but I don't have much call for that.

The range on mine is over 100 ft. I like the fact that I can leave the phone on my desk and walk anywhere in our 7,000+ sf space and it works fine. It even works when I walk over to some of the neighboring suites, and part of the parking lot.

Hmmm, I always thought that the maximum distance for usable BT transmission was about 10 metres (30 feet.)

That's what they advertise, but I find when using a Motorola headset with a Motorola phone I get at least 100 feet out of it.

Heh, that's exactly my frustration with products built by the cell providers, I think it shouldn't matter, it's bluetooth, everything should work well with everything. I haven't actually tested the range on my Otto headset, I'll do that.

Well, its bluteooth, but you are still dealing with the quality and design of different manufacturers. The minimum standard for BT is 32 feet. If a mfr makes something that does better they don't go out and redesign till its a lesser quality product. Motorola seems to set their standards higher. My motorola headsets do not get the same range when used with my non-motorola phones.

Same here. When I use with any of the 3 BBs that I have they start breaking up at around 10 feet but when used with a Moto phone they can go as far as 40 feet. I think each manufacturer optimizes their headsets to their own handsets.

In my experience BT is also very particular about the surroundings — for some reason I get much better range inside buildings than when outside is involved. I can leave my phone in the car in the garage and walk with BT headset over to the bedroom on the second floor, putting a few walls between us and it'll still hold signal. Park in front of the post office, go inside — I'm separated by two glass windows and standing about 12-15 feet away from the phone, but it won't connect.

For some reason if I leave my phone in the car I can only walk away about 20 - 30 feet before it starts fading out. I guess its the nice thick 26 year old American steel keeping it from the 100 ft range I usually enjoy.

My Otto headset on my Motorola phone at home gives me about 28 feet, went outside and tried it and it gave me 40 feet, not sure why.

Any suggestions for a ruggedized/active use bluetooth headset?

I don't like how my H500 sorta flops around on my ear when working. I'd like something sorta snug, but only one ear.

My Motorola H350 is very tight, and they're cheap. You may want to check it out.

Not sure if you like Nokia or not but I use the Nokia BH-600 and it fits tightly on either ear you choose. I have talked 5 hours straight without it going dead but before it does go out on you, it does give you a series of beeps several times warning you. It has very good sound quality. You can google the specs for yourself but if you buy one from eBay, make sure it's location is in the USA. Fakes are coming out of Hong Kong and China. I bought both of mine on eBay from dealtree I think. Haven't had one minutes trouble out of either one.

Are there any other devices like the Jabra A210, a Bluetooth add-on for phones without Bluetooth?

Motorola makes one for their V-series and iDEN phones that were made without Bluetooth. It snaps into the data port on the bottom of the phone.

Jabra does as well. It's a little pigtail thing that plugs into the phone's headset port.

This may be a silly question but I'll ask it anyway. How long do the Bluetooth headsets normally last? I currently own a
Jabra BT350v headset and the thing charges but the device will not power on. I've only had it for three or four months

Before that, I had a Motorola HS820 and that lasted a couple of months. Maybe it's the user being too tough on the headsets and not realizing it.

If I'm being tough on the headsets, what maintenance tips do you guys reccomend ... when I buy my replacement, I want it to be my last LOL

I might be trying one of them soon as I looked around to see if any one has any experience with them and could not find much. I need one that does not break up with a Blackberry, I am getting sick of using Moto with the BB and the jawbone is nice but it is a bit bulcky for me. In the last 2 days I tried the Moto H9 (was lent to me by the dealer) and it did not work well with the BB so I gave up on it fast and returned it to him. Since I use several and like to keep one BT headset handy in each location that I am usualy at (home office, car and office) so I use 3 of them and the ones I am looking now to try are the BlueAnte, Nokia and most likely the Samsung
