I need to get a BT for my 8600. Nothing fancy, just something that allows me to answer when I'm out cycling. Do most of the more recent vintages allow auto answer rather then press button answer coupled with a VX8600?
Auto Answer is a function of the phone, not the headset. Look in your BT menu and see if auto answer is in there. I know it is on Motorola phones, but I only had an LG phone for one day before I returned it to the store and never tried that feature. -Jay
it's also on our 6102i's i think if you have blue tooth in your phone you have the auto ans. opt. (i think)
I looked in the BT menu and there nothing in options that says auto-answer but it might change up when you actually add a BT device
It might be under the headset menu, or you may even have an answer options menu. I am not very familiar with LG's menu structure. -Jay
I dont know. In answer option you can turn auto answer on and i think that for so when you flip the phone open it answers. I would imagine that once you hook a BT up it will have auto answer
I don't know about LG, but with Motorolas Open To Answer and Auto Answer are 2 different things. -Jay
Actually after looking in the answer options there is a flip open option which it what is selcted and there is a auto answer option.
i think the flip open option is when bluetooth is not connected and and the auto answer is when bluetooth is active, that's the way mine is setup and when i'm on bluetooth it auto answer's on the second ring and i don't have to touch anything, it auto disconnect's without touching anything when the party you are talking to hangs up
I believe that the auto answer option that you are seeing in the phone options only applies to the phone itself but when the handset is connected to a bluetooth device.
See if this will work for you. 1) Go to Tools & Settings 2) Hit Bluetooth Menu 3) Highlight your bluetooth device and select "options" 4) Select Supported Profiles 5) Select Handsfree and press OK ( make a test call to your phone and see if the auto answer is now on). I haven't used this on any of my LG phones, so I don't know if doing it the way I described above will work for you or not.
