Very nice list Charlyee. It's been a while since I had a keyboard on my BB, but here are a few others I remember. When in an email or web page: Space bar = scroll down 1 page at a time Shift + Space bar = scroll up 1 page at a time T = top of page/document B = bottom of page/document
Nice list Charlyee. This is a great idea for a thread. Here are my contributions: While on the home screen: Hold down ALT and press N M L L (Home screen Switches the signal strength from bars to a RSSI numeric value. Press the sequence a second time to get the signal strength bars back) ALT CAP DEL (performs a soft reset)
Thanks for the list Charlyee! I will definitely try to use some of them...if I can remember the shortcuts...LOL!! :headscrat The one I do use quite a bit is for adding e-mail addresses. It is so much faster to hit the space bar to add the "@" & "." I'm sure I've used others, but have had "one of those days" here at work and my 2 brain cells are on overload at the moment. If I think of them, I'll let ya all know!
OH...I forgot these for Facebook! Cool shortcuts Facebook has developed some cool shortcuts to help you connect and share with your friends even faster: S = View News Feeds N = View notifications U = Upload a photo F = View Friend List J = Add a Friend W = Write on a wall M = Send a message Hope these help! Chris
Here are a few more Browser Shortcuts: Z - switch column and page view D - hide the browser Y - history X - zoom out all at once V - search the web F - find or find next **** Signal Strength: instead of looking at the signal bars, which as we know, isn't always so accurate, you can set your display of the signal strength to read numbers. While at the home screen, hold down the ALT key while you type the letters "NMLL". Your bars should now change to numbers. To change back to bars; at the home screen, hold down the ALT key while you type NMLL again. BlackBerry9000/4.6.0.297 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102
While I was on my lunch break at work today using free WiFi, I found out that if you hit the "C" key, it will give you your "Connection Information". Such as; Host, Duration, Bytes sent and received, as well as your security settings if available...... As we are all finding out from this informative thread, there really is a lot of shortcuts available on a Blackberry, that make a users experience with the device much more efficient, and user friendly. Irene, I am presuming you are doing this from within the browser, right? Thanks for your continued support and contribution to this thread.
You are welcome. Yes Charlyee, I am hitting the "C" key while in the browser. I took a picture of it, so you and others on here can see what this screen looks like.
One other neat trick I found on the 9700, when you are texting with someone. if you press the green call button it gives you an option to call that person.
Here is one that works in BBM only *2 letter country abbreviations* will insert the flag of the country. For example *US* will insert the US Flag. The country abbreviations can be found here. Contributed by my forumite friend Canes98, who appears to have vanished into "Never Neverland" after 3 posts.
ALT + Back = Switch between last two open apps (press alt then back and release) BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.405 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102
