I just bought my self a BlackBerry Pearl 8130 this past week. So far it's been not bad, just have to get use to the roller...:) I do have a few question for yea. I noticed that the keys don't light up all the time. Is there a setting that needs to be changed? Also, I thought you could send pics from this phone to another phone (I use AllTell). My old Samsung could send pics. How do you do it on this phone???

To fix the keys not lighting up install an application called BB Light. This is a cool little app that you can set to light up the display keys etc on any user activity. If you go to this link you can download it, and some other good apps also.

Not sure about sending pictures. I have Verizon and you can send pictures from one phone to another but you have to address it differently. For example to send a text message the address is xxx-xxxx@vtext.com. To send a picture you would send it to xxx-xxxx@vzwpics.com (or something like that). Usually you don't have to address it manually, just choose sending text or picture, the software takes care of the rest. I would suggest contacting Alltell and see what they say.

I believe all BB's do that. Thats what the app BB Light over rides. You set it activate on startup. Then you can set it so that the lights and the screen light up brightly on user activity, on removal from holster etc. Give it a try, if it does not work you can remove it.

What is BB? I've found if I put my finger over the LED it will turn on. My backlight was acting weird so I turned it off

I spoke with the people at RIM today and they told me that the 8130 is more than capable of doing MMS messages. The problem is with Alltel. I was transfered over to Alltel at which time the tech told me that they are having licensing agreement issues and that is why we are not able to use the MMS feature. Call and bug Alltel until they fix this problem!
