Long story short, I have to switch from Android to a Blackberry. Nothing wrong with the G1, but it just can't compare with the Blackberry when it comes to business e-mails. The Blackberry curve 8330 is what I want. Problem is, it's not showing up on Sprint.com I waited two days... It's still not there. I called Sprint's sales line a few mins ago to find out why it isn't online. The rep told me that, "It's sold out" and that they had absolutely no idea when it would be back. He tried to sell me the iDen version of the Curve. I laughed. Me... on iDen? HA! Does anyone have any insight on when I will be able to order this thing? Or should I hold out and wait for the Palm Pre? *sigh*
It seems that they took the stock down to re-flash the phones with the new OS. I have no idea when it will be back in stock, but it should not be that long. See if any stores have it, and upgrade the OS yourself.
I'm going to wait a few days and see what happens. If I go to a store I'm going to get hit with an activation fee, right?
I just checked Sprint.com The phone is back on the website but it is unavailable for purchase. "This phone is currently out-of-stock. Please select another phone or sign up to be notified when it is available."
If the Sprint store has them in stock , just tell them your story & they should waive the activation fee.
Well I already have a SERO plan so I just bought one on ebay for $170.... That's a good price considering I wont have to deal with contracts and such. I'm sure I'll have to switch to the new simply everything data... but that's okay.
I got an e-mail from Sprint a few moments ago. Looks like everything is back in stock. "We are happy to inform you that the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330 is now back in stock."
Considering all you get with the Sprint software on the Blackberry, Sprint TV, Navigation, Sprint Cup Mobile, NFL Mobile, etc., RIM has to be very happy with Sprint. Especially since the BIS is included in the Everything Plan and no additional $30.00 Blackberry fee that the other carriers charge with less software. If you think about it,, you can pick from a regular phone with 3g or the Blackberry for the same plan price. More than likely why the Sprint Blackberry's are flying off the shelves.
Not to mention they are also the #1 Enterprise device world wide with most major corporations and agencies
