Tried to get this started. Installed Prolific Drivers. Installed BitPim. Get the following:

    com4: Connecting to port com4, 115200 baud, timeout 2.000000, hardwareflow 0
    com4: Connection suceeded
    LG-VX4400: Phone initialised
com4: Timed out waiting for 7e - 0 bytes read
    com4: Changing rate to 38400
com4: Timed out waiting for 7e - 0 bytes read
    com4: Changing rate to 38400
com4: Timed out waiting for 7e - 0 bytes read
    LG-VX4400: Manufacturer is
    LG-VX4400: Model is
    LG-VX4400: Software is
com4: Timed out waiting for 7e - 0 bytes read
    com4: Changing rate to 38400
com4: Timed out waiting for 7e - 0 bytes read
    com4: Changing rate to 38400
com4: Timed out waiting for 7e - 0 bytes read

Then a popup tells me to check port settings. I have phone set to USB and no other port setting on Bitpim (123) works at all. What am I doing wrong?

The error popup I get is the following:

LG-VX4400 on com4: The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew.

Check that port on the phone is set correctly.
(menu->8->6->2: It is normally set to RS-232 COM port).
Also check that you have selected the correct port on your computer
and the cable is still firmly plugged in (currently using com4)

So I set port to RS-232. No other port under settings (1235) goes anywhere at all.

I am sure i am missing something very simple. Please help.

the cdm-8910 does not work with Bitpim, I checked. I cannot find any software that will work with it, without having to purchase the software for 39.00.
