I am switching to Verizon from Cingular and am looking for a real quality camera on any Verizon flip phone. I currently own the LG L1400 on Cingular and the camera is less than ideal. Any advice much appreciated.
Motorola E815 and LG VX8100 are both 1.3mp cameras.. both take pretty good pics. That'd be the first two phones I'd look at. As of right now, the E815 is $99.99 with 2yr contract, the 8100 is $149.99. I've heard the 8100 is kinda buggy but it still appears to be a really nice phone. One thing of note about the 8100 is that the multimedia buttons on the face of the phone are currently not enabled but should be enabled soon with a software update.
I agree with cryogenic, both the Moto and LG have good cameras and are both flip phones. Both phones are digital only, reception wise, the Motorola is said to have the edge. Those two phones will probably have the best cameras, other camera phones include the VX6100, Moto V710, and others.
The E815 and the VX8100 are excellent camera phones. One phone to stay away from is the V710. The camera quality is horrible on this phone. Trust me, as I am a former 710 owner who got rid of that phone like a bad habit as soon as the 815 came out.
Strange... my friend has a V710 and I found the image quality to be quite acceptable for a camera phone. I'd rather have a digital camera obviously but it's still not horrible.
I'd also avoid the Motorola V710. A friend of mine has one and from what I've seen it doesn't take very good photos. My Samsung a670 which doesn't even have a megapixel camera takes much better shots than the Motorola V710.
