Objectively speaking, what is the best service provider in new york city? i hear bad things about all of them(some not so good indoors, some not good uptown, downtown etc). any thoughts?

I live in S.I., NY (part of NYC) and i have had all of the service providers (Bell Atlantic (Verizon), ATT, Voicestream, Nextel, and now Sprint. My friend has Verizon and he gets service everywhere. I had ATT, they were also good, Voicestream was good, but there is now analog backup in rural areas, Nextel SUCK if you leave Manhattan, and Sprint is awesome! I get service everywhere! and i can even roam on to an analog network if i need to. So go with either Verizon or Sprint. I choose Sprint over Verizon because Sprint has much much cooler phones!

another thing that you shouled consider when picking between Verizon and Sprint PCS is that with verizon you can roam in analog areas for FREE. Both are good companies.

Most people recommend Sprint in NYC...

ive had both sprint and verizon in NYC (currently on verizon), and i think they are both equally good, reception wise. if i were signing up for wireless service today, I would pick sprint because their policy on buying phones isnt as strict as it is with verizon. Plus i think sprint phones look nicer.
