Reception wise is the e815 still the king?

I have a V710 and a Nokia 3589i both phones seem to have similar reception. Both phones seem to be better then most of my friends phones as far as placing calls in low signal areas.

I am looking to upgrade and I need a phone with really good signal reception since I live in a low signal area.

Is there any phone that has better reception then the e815? Which phone should I get?

I really don't know which phone gets reception close to the E815 and the Nokia and other Moto you mentioned. I have tried a RAZR, LG chocolate and Samsung u740 and neither come close.

The current phone with the best reception and closest to the 710- 815 would probably be the Motorola 325i. It has an extendible antenna which would help reception in a fringe area.

I would also venture a guess that the ruggedized GZone gets excellent recetion from what I saw of it, the best bet is to go to a store talk to more than 1 employee, try the phones out.

The LG VX8300 picks up pretty well but the 8600 picks up a little bit better. Honestly when I had Verizon out of all the phones I had I liked the VX8600 the best, it was a nice phone and had excellent RF.

I have the RAZR V3m now and it is much better than my previous 2 LG's. I had a LG 3100 and a LG 4500 previously. If I was in my basement, I'd have to walk up the stairs until my call connected, then I could walk back down. I had the same trouble when I was outside, too. So far, no probs with the RAZR connecting.

i have the vx8300 and reception is excellent. i am normally able to make calls as long as it says 1x. It seems to do pretty well considering i am in an area that is extended network and surrounded by verizon. only on the fringe areas do i ever have problem and thats because it is switching between us cellular and verizon constantly! (i wish they would hurry up and give us native coverage, we are surrounded by verizon and heck vcast for that fact.we are stuck in the middle where it is us cellular in north central indiana!)

To make a long story short I had a lot of problems recently with Verizon on my main line and they agreed to let me out of my contract with no ETF. So two weeks ago I switched to Sprint PCS and bought a blue Sanyo Katana.

The best reception phone that was equal to my E815 is the Motorola V325i. It doesn't have all the features that the E815 has, but no matter what area I was in with a poor signal the V325i performed. My old LG 8300 was good as well, but the reception wasn't as good as the Motorola's.
The 8300, and the 8600 will be closer to the E815's features than the V325i will be if that is important to you.

I have done some testing with the V710 and the V325i and have found that the V710 has slightly better reception then the V325i. Also my friends E815 seems to have slightly better reception then my V710. My old Nokia 3589i seems to be slightly ahead of my V710 as far as reception goes also. So reception wise this is what I have found so far:

    1. E815 and 3589i
    2. V710
    3. V325i

    Yeah the E815.

I would like to get the Razor v3m, but I have heard that the reception is not as good as the E815.

What would you suggest for the best reception?

I still have my E815, so I would say if you can find it somewhere (eBay, ect..) get that one. I had the V3m for a short period of time and it didn't hold a signal as well as my E815.

I agree- even though my V3m is not bad, it's not as good as my E815.

I wouldn't vote for the vx8300. I have it and half the time, I can't call out when I want to because the reception suddenly drops off. I'm waiting until June, when I can get rid of it....:D

There is nothing available better than Motorola. I have my old v710 and my old e815 and both are better than any "current" moto phones - have tried the razr and krzr and both aren't close to the older moto phones. The cuter they get, the worse they are for reception...they may play tunes and get jumpy video but they zuik at phones.

Can you tell I haven't had a good day...just seemed to be a good time to vent about the cellular situation in general. If I want an ipod I'll get one...these are supposed to be phones.
