I am switching over to Verizon today. For just making and receiving calls, no special features, which is the best flip phone Verizon has to offer. I don't need games or text messaging, but I do want a flip style.

All of my friends love the call quality and reception on the Motorola V60i. I personaly don't like LG phones (tried one for 4 days, hated it) but you might want to just testdrive a bunch till you find the one you like.

I really like my T720, everyone is really crying about Verizon and the GiN, but I really like it.

Ive heard good things about the v60i with Verizon, if a color screen isnt important then id steer clear of the 720 have heard some real nightmare stories about that model, at least wait til the next version....

The LG VX10 is by far the best phone that Verizon offers. Great sound quality and reception. The only problem is that it doesn't get the best battery life (all Verizon phones seem to get 4 days standby and 180 min. talk. More of a problem with the service than the phones).

I've had a Samsung A310 for about 5 days with Verizon and it pulls in signals great, even in marginal areas. Battery life is not great (blue screen) but getting better with each charge. It packs in a lot of features for a compact flip phone. Right now it is marked down to 99.99, and then you can send in a 50.00 rebate, bringing your final cost down to 49.99.

The only other phone I am interested in trying is the Audiovox 9500, also on sale for 199.99 with a 100.00 rebate if you send in an old working cellphone. This has a color screen and is reputed to be the best phone for pulling in weak signals. The battery life is the only consistent complaint, but there is an extended battery you can buy.

Definitely get the v60i. Color phones just drain the battery a lot quicker than the standard phone and that to me is a waste of money. I love my v60i.
