Hey guys. I currently live in Phialdelphia, and have been a loyal cingular fan for years (since before they were cingular). But i'm moving to DC to attend law school in a week from now. What is the best cell plan in DC. By best i mean combination of Signal Strength, Market Penetration, Quality of phone (must be small and light), and then cost. (that was put in order of higher importance to lesser). I will be traveling a lot between DC - Philadelphia - and NYC ; but i will going into VA every now and then. If anyone knows about coverage in Foggy Bottom (GW Law School) area that would be awesome. I just want the phone to work in my apt, in the law school building, and in the metro, and everywhere in between. thank you.
In terms of rate Cingular is the best their Cingular Nation is the only true no roaming no long distance plan out there but, since you mention the metro that leaves Verizon as your only choice since they are the only carrier that works in the metro stations mind you not in the tunnels, and their coverage on the east coast is very good, their plans are a little more expensive than Cingular.
i'm more concerned with signal quality in various buildings in DC (including my apt and law school), THEN i care about metro signal. is verizon still better for this too?
i travel to dc often and have both sprint and verizon, i would recommend them both to you. i used to have att but calls would never go through since the network is always busy in dc.
Cingular coverage is excellent in DC. Much better than PA, DE and NJ. I've been in several college buildings and basements doing contract jobs and the signal strength is much better than any other part of the US I've been. I don't recall a time when my phone was showing less than full 4 bars even inside buildings in Georgetown Univ.
