Bought a Motorola hardwired headset today and it just doesn't get the job done so I'm looking to Bluetooth for a better option. I've heard the technology is a bit quirky so what would be my best choice? Yes, I did use the search function and came up with zilch.

The Motorola branded headsets have nice range. I personally suggest the H700. It is a fantastic unit, and it uses the same charger as your V3, so you only need 1 charger when traveling.

Thanks for the help, seems like an excellent choice, let me go check out the customer's reviews on cnet. Love it when making a purchase turns into an amusement park ride.

We have 3-H500's in our household.

Nice, small, compact and trouble free, for us.

I have a H500 too and it works fine for me and it uses the same charger as the phone just like the H700.

Yes, we got two chargers, don't we.
One for if your in a hurry and one for lolly-gagging around.

Three chargers if you have the data cable.

FYI, the same data cable for the phone will also charge the headset from a computer. Done this a number of times.

Same here, that does come in as a great part of the phone.

I have a Motorola HS820. Probably the cheapest Bluetooth headset you can get. It is pretty good. Different charger than the RAZR. Decent sound quality, pretty comfortable to wear.

I've thought about trying that, but never tried. Nice to know it works if I need a charge in a pinch.

Won't make a decision 'til early next week but I'm considering running down to J&R to p/u a Plantronic 640 Discovery for $69.95. Still have plenty of time to do more research but this set is well thought of on cnet with an 8.0 rating so if anyone has experience, good or bad, with one of these I'd love to hear it.

Guess I'll find out eventually. I'm a borderline audiophile and I use my IEM's (Westone UM2's) quite a bit so maybe this will give me an edge. From what I've read the whole bluetooth thing is one big crapshoot anyway. I'll probably go with the 655 as it's the newer model and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out I'll go with one of the Moto's.
Thanks to all for taking the time to respond.

Was at the VZW shop yesterday, paying my late bill, as usual. They had the plantronic you wanted for around $80.

Look elswhere for it at that price.

I have to honestly advise the H700, it's light, comfortable, and well works wonderfully. I have good range with it and the replacement warranty on it is good. Also noice cancellation works well and you can find a good deal on it. IMHO Motorola is the leader as far as bluetooth is concerned, plantronics has ok stuff and logitech well we wont go there.

I agree. The H700 is the best headset I've ever used.

Hmm, maybe I'll get 'em both. I'm having so much fun playing with the Razr, the need for a new toy is diminishing at a rate you wouldn't believe. Oh yeah, it *is* a phone, maybe I should use it something more than playing Monopoly Tycoon.:loony: Got a touch of bronchitis right now, guess when I feel a bit better I'll run down to J&R and see what I can see.

I think your best bet is to go to a store and try each one.

What's the difference between the H500 and the H700?

If you are talking about 'looks'. Take a peek at post #12. There is a couple of links that shows the difference in their 'looks'.

Cost is not that much of a difference, maybe $10. I got mine overnighted from Tiger express with 5 year replacement warranty, a father's day gift from my son's, for less than $41..

One is a static boom the other one is a flip boom, boom = microphone. Trust me the 700 is worth the extra money and it has noice cancellation yummy.

I stopped by a Radio Shack to p/u a 6" mini to mini and walked out with a Plantronics Explorer 320. Pure impulse and this headset is a great buy for $30. SQ is very good on both ends, it's light, easy to use and very comfortable. No static either as has been mentioned regarding this headset. Still can't get over what a good deal this was. Thanks for all your help btw, whodda thought I'd end up with a 320.

I have the HS810 and H500. Both are OK IMO, but I always feel like they are a little loose on my ear.

Anyone use the new H3? It has a nice look.
