Bell introduces the HTC Touch smartphone with a unique unlimited Internet and email feature and full over-the-air music access
Friday November 16, 9:45 am ET

TORONTO, Ontario, Nov. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell today launched the HTC Touch(TM) smartphone, offering clients the ability to add unlimited access to the Internet and email for just $7 a month. Featuring a next generation touch-screen interface, the HTC Touch is a Windows Mobile(R) smartphone that brings together a wide variety of communication, entertainment and professional capabilities that let mobile consumers balance work and play.

"The HTC Touch from Bell Mobility uniquely combines unlimited Internet and email access, the benefits of Windows Mobile and a range of exclusive mobile music and other multimedia capabilities, making it an ideal device for clients who want a great looking and easy to use data device that does it all," said Adel Bazerghi, Vice President, Products at Bell Mobility.

With Bell Mobility's mobile browser feature, clients can add unlimited access to the Internet and email to their HTC Touch for just $7 per month. They can visit popular Web sites like Facebook, chat with friends on Windows Live Messenger, or access email accounts (including Windows Live Hotmail, Sympatico, Google Mail and Yahoo! Mail) without additional charges.

The HTC Touch features TouchFLO(TM), a touch screen technology developed by HTC that allows for simple and intuitive finger navigation of the screen. Clients sweep their finger upwards to launch an animated interface, which can be spun through by swiping left or right across the display. The interface provides easy access to the most popular menus as well as music, mobile browser, emails, text messages, photos and contacts. With a slide of their finger, clients can open, scroll, select and rotate.

"The HTC Touch offers a new, more intuitive touch experience that both consumers and professionals will enjoy," said Jason Mackenzie, Vice President, HTC America. "Bell's unique pricing for unlimited access to email and Internet will enable clients to take full advantage of the Touch's all-in-one multimedia and communications functionality."

    Canada's largest mobile music catalogue

The HTC Touch is also the first Window Mobile smartphone in Canada that can access music over the air, with access to the more than 1.5 million songs available on the Bell Full Track Music Service. The largest mobile music catalogue in Canada, it's also the first to allow clients to download entire albums instead of just single tracks, when they subscribe to the $15 per month unlimited music subscription. Recent enhancements to the music service include album reviews, artist bios and concert listings by city, all even easier to read on the HTC Touch's large screen. The HTC Touch runs on the Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system, offering mobile versions of familiar Microsoft Windows applications, and features an extra-large touch-screen display, expandable MicroSD memory, a 2 megapixel camera and camcorder, speakerphone and stereo Bluetooth(R) compatibility.

The HTC Touch is available for as low as $149.95 with a three-year contract. For more information on the smartphone's features and pricing, please visit bell.ca/wireless.

They don't mention what's "unique" about the Internet and email features.
