After initial poor reviews, these BT AirPods have nearly nothing but rave ratings and reviews on line. Always on back order by 6 weeks, they will arrive in early September. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My wife sent them back after a week. Didn't stay in her ears when she was running on a treadmill. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
They are the same design as the included wired EarPods. Does she have a problem with those also? I don't, so I should be fine. There are covers available for all EarPods to take up some room for a better fit, I got some for my wife, I remember now. 3rd party mostly on Amazon. Anyways, I mostly walk, sit, and don't run... I think she does occasionally, not all the time. I told her the same thing but she was scared because she had a hard time locating the one that fell and didn't want to risk that again. She really liked them in all other regards (well, except the price). Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I don't recall. In her case the unit dropped on the running treadmill and got launched across the room into another row of machines. She said a couple more inches and it would've been very hard to pull it out from under whichever equipment it landed under, so it wasn't the inability to pinpoint the location, rather the physical difficulty of extracting it. I think as long as you don't jump & run you'll have nothing to worry about unless somebody bumps into you in a crowd. One other nifty feature is the playback stops automatically if you remove one of the earpieces from the ear, so if you drop it you won't have to reverse back when listening to an audiobook.
I have some tan colored duct tape, in case it becomes a huge issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got my AirPods yesterday. I LOVE them so far! Sound is super, much better than the wired ones Like how they magnetically snap into the charger case. Didn't realize that the case, and the buds have batteries, so that's how the AirPods stays charged. ""Just works"" connections to my iPhone, watch, and iPad ( and I guess the Mac too) So far they are snug in my ear ( so full of wax, that they stay put ) No more worries about snagging my arm on a wire, and sling shot'ing my phone to the floor. Very happy to be wireless! Superb Apple engineering, once again. Well thought out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Enjoy! I don't recall thinking that they sounded any better or worse than the wired ones, but they're definitely much cooler.
I'd say the bass is deeper and the highs crisper. Some reviews agree, others don't. A lot depends on how they fit in ones ear. But don't buy them for that reason. It's the wireless BT and new chip is the main feature. No more cord to wind up nor untangle. And can be charging and listening at the same time. Due to Apples cable option. The other reason is the beam shaped microphones and noise reduction are high quality too. With the included case power usage is 24 hours. They fit well. Here are some $10 options for keeping them in place for those that worry. And an audio review plus the Apple site ad. https://www.google.com/amp/bgr.com/2017/07/18/airpods-silicone-cover-strap-amazon/amp/ http://www.todaysiphone.com/2017/01/airpods-review/ https://www.apple.com/airpods/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That makes sense, we were listening to an audiobook That is definitely not an issue for my wife with her old wired headset. She always just gives it to me to wind up or untangle and she can definitely charge & listen at the same time due to Apple's cable option on the 6+ Perhaps she'll worry about that with the next upgrade. I'll check out the "stay put" links, thanks!
I really do love these AirPods! Especially in the morning, in bed, I don't have to fiddle with unwinding cords in the dark. I did buy the corded ' stay on' at the link above. I can see them working, but not necessarily will I use them much. The AirPods stay in my ear just find. For other, I recommend a spray adhesive shot into your ears The cord on that Spigen accessory is a bit stiff or has a memory that feels uncomfortable. Probably some dental floss tied onto the AirPods is just as good of a solution for rough jogging. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
@dmapr. Indeed there is a ‘Find my Airpods’ feature inside the Find My iPhone app. Been there since a year ago. I didn’t lose mine, but the feature is there. Shows the last location and you can cause the AirPods to beep to help locate them. The last location is where they were on a map, but I imagine you need to be within BT range to activate the beep. Sort of like a Tile feature. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's still pretty good. At least in the situation where my wife lost hers it would have worked. It's possible of course for the thing to land where it isn't reachable, but still. Perhaps we'll revisit the pods when the next version comes out Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
