it's funny that we are talking about batteries between v601 and p. I am going to return the v60p today and was wondering if i should swap batteries to get a newer battery. Yes, i know it is immoral. I currently have the extended battery for v601 but but since batteries do depreocate over time, i was wondering if handing my old extended back with the v60p and keeping the new extended for my v601 would be worth it. The battery life on my v60i seemd sooooo much better

Is there a difference in technologies?

The V60p comes with a 900 mah battery, and a 1100 mah and 1350 mah Mot OEM is also offered. Now I'm assuming the 900 mah is "standard" and the 1100 mah is "extended." Is this correct? It is a little confusing since the V60p phone details say "standard battery" yet it is rated at 900 mah while the VZW Accessories Website for V60 says a "standard battery" is rated at 700 mah and the "extended" is 800 mah. No mention of 900 mah. Also, a question about aftermarket batteries. I have seen a 2400 mah available at this website: BargainCell.com for $19.99 and a 1600 mah at this website: Coolbattery.com for $15.99 both including the battery door. Is it wise to purchase aftermarket batteries? Is the performance as to be expected? Or should I go for a OEM 1100 mah or 1350 mah Mot battery found at Battery Outlet for more money?

    Thanks for your input

I am at 24 hours with the stock battery, 1 bar left, after 2 full charge/discharge cycles. I made 8 2-4 minute cellular calls, between 5 and 10 PTT calls, checked my voicemail 3 times, and browsed the web amd checked hotmail many times.

Seems to keep up with a T720 with a standard battery so far.

The first charge SUCKED. I only got about 8 hours out of it. Not sure if this matters, but I have been using the desktop spare charging slot (maybe the desktop charge has better charging logic in it than the phone) every charge after the first charge. I have two batteries I have been alternating between and both are on their second charge.

    I am using:
    Stock Battery (800mah)
    SNN5705B (750mah)

The battery life does suck, for this reason I just may have to part with it or if I come across a great deal just pick up 2 extra ones.

I would advise against using aftermarket batteries. Aside from having a reputation as being junk, they also void your warranty if you use them.

Why is 55 hours a bad battery I personally have never stayed up that long. I have only had mine 3 days and it has always lasted all day, charge at night and ready to go again. I guess I don't understand all the talk about battery life. And we all know the battery never last as it's longest until it has been charged 5 times . This is what lit batts are all about.

DrCellular: Just a question, how long are you on the phone would you estimate? Per day that is?

Cenobyte: ALL verizon networks are set to Slot cycle zero or one (SC0 or SC1). ALL Sprint phones have SC2. But SC2 radios will take longer to connect or at times even miss calls. But SC0 and SC1 will take much less time to connect.

    Tadlock and all the others:
Slot cycle zero draws the most current and thus low battery life. All PTT phones by verizon (as of today) are enabled to SC0 to reduce the latency in PTT call setup. The higher current drain is due to the fact that the V60p wakes up every 5 mins or so to update the individual presence at the same time to download the latest presence of their buddy list and groups.

The battery life of the V60P is very comparable when compared to the other phones out there. There is another attribute to the low battery life which is the unwanted Spam by the other on the phone. Since each PTT radio has an IP address there are outsiders who are trying to “PING” the V60p and thus during every ping a data call is established and it results in a high current draw which in turn reduces the battery life. I think in future verizon wireless will have fire walls to prevent unwanted “PING”.

If you put the phone to charge every night like u do with the other phones. Your phone will never die on you due to low battery unless you talk on the phone for like 3-4 hrs on that day

The Standard battery that I got with the V60p is a 900mAH battery. Which is an extended battery for a V60i.

The coolest thing I loved about the V60p is the awesome polyphonic speakerphone. And guess what Midi ring tones sound great !!!!!

Got more question, shoot. Will try to share some of the knowledge that I had acquired.

Guru: Thanks for the info. I'm surprised they don't have the firewalls already?

55 hours is a complete lie! I can't even get 6hrs of usage (about 1.5 hrs talk time). My Startac & T68m could go 2 days between charges. This must be a joke. I couldn't wait to get this phone. Now I can't wait to exchange it. Man what a bummer. Delta you got me all pumped up over this thing and now I feel like the kid who has to return all his Christmas toys because they're broken.

The only thing that could salvage this would be a high capacity battery.

Does anyone have 1st hand knowledge:
1600mah or 2400mah - Does it get you thru the day (how many real hours do you get)?
Does it add alot of bulk to the phone?

    Mike
