Looks like the Dodgers worked out a last minute deal to land Manny Ramirez from Boston! This is just what the Dodgers needed. An outfield who can hit for both average and power. This comes just a couple of days after the Angels landed another good player in a trade. I can only hope for an Angels vs. Dodgers world series now.
From your mouth to God's ears on that one!!! I would love this too. I think you will agree, larry, the Angels are so much fun to watch these days. They slaughtered the Red Sux with a sweep the past 3 days! Whoo-hoo!!! The Dodgers finally climbed above the .500 mark rolleyes, now maybe they can move ahead of the 'Zonies with the addition of Ramirez. I have to admit, there is nothing I love more than to see the San Diego Padres languish in last place, on a pace to lose over 100 games. :lmao: I'd love to see both the Chargers and Padres move out of SD! :evillaugh Oh, what a great day that would be!
Oh yeah it's been freakin awesome to watch them sweep the Red Sox at home and then on the road a week later! Now they have to try to win 2 out of 3 from the Yankess in NY! Yes I'm hoping this is the piece of the puzzle that they needed to get past AZ. Without this trade I would have only given them around a 45% chance of winning the division. Now I think they have a 55% chance of winning the division. Uh-oh I hope Anthromatt doesn't see this. Good thing he's on vacation right now!
Manny Manny Manny Manny hahahahah I love this trade GO Blue. Man the Dodgers got a great talent for nothing. He has been on a roll here too! I hope that they make the playoffs because Manny unlike A Rod doesn't choke in the playoffs. So GO Dodgers and yes GO Angels. L.A. baseball is on fire right now.
The Dodgers traditionally don't do well against the Cardinals so this no surprise. It's kind of like how the Angels could rarely beat Boston (until this year of course).
Is that because you still haven't got over 1996 when the Dodgers, with a 2 game lead and three to play, were swept by San Diego 3 straight games in LA? :lmao: The Chargers keep threatening to leave, so if they do leave, it wouldn't be a huge shock and I wouldn't have too much of an issue with it. If the Padres ever left town I could get over that too...I still have the losers known as the Phillies. And if I were no longer a Padres fan it would "free me up" to accept the D'backs. I am actually somewhat pleased the Padres are struggling too. Maybe they will actually realize they need an offense. For the past three years they have been lucky with their pitching. This year the pitching is average to bad and look what happens. The Padres ownership sucks and needs to for over some $$ to get some bats in the lineup.
Actually, I didn't even think of that. I've always disliked them and as far as what happened in 1996? Big deal. The Padres won the division, but it didn't get them anywhere. The Dodgers still got into the playoffs, and both teams lost! What matters to me is how many titles a team has. The Dodgers (in L.A.) have 5 championships, the Angels have 1. What does San Diego have? NOTHING!!!:lmao: (No Chargers Super Bore Titles, no Padres WS championships. NOTHING!) I find it funny Anaheim has a World Series Championship and a Stanley Cup title (Ducks) , but San Diego (a city 4 times the size of Anaheim) has just "appearances" in title games only (and forgettable ones at that). Even though it's been 20 years since the Dodgers last title, at least they have championships. It's a lot more than I can say about the pathetic San Francisco Giants and the Padres.
Well, the Chargers do have a couple AFL Championships. And how can you forget the mighty San Diego Sockers! LOL. Yes, San Diego teams have a history of failure. I guess if that is the price the fans must play to live in SoCal AND not be in the LA Metro area, it is probably well worth the suffering in sports.
Actually just 1 in 1964...A minor championship at that. Oh and the second one you're talking about is their AFC title in the year the 49ers dismantled them... True, but they were in soccer leagues now defunct. It's hard to take defunct leagues seriously. There are many of these leagues that have existed over the years. Counting those titles as "major league" titles is debatable. But I'll give San Diego that (barely...). :evillaugh
Yes, it was an great game. Loved watching the Angels tear up the Yankees for 8 runs in the 8th inning...73 wins, 43 losses, not bad, not bad at all!
The Dodgers went and blew a good opportunity to pick up a game on AZ for first place. They lost in 10 innings.
