anyone ever get a refubr thats a piece of crap? i just got one less then a week ago and its always droping calls when it has perfect service, turning off for no reason (sometimes while im talking), it will say charging finished then i take it off the charger and it has 3 bars instead of 4,sometimes it wont turn off~like i try to turn it off and it says good bye then says welcome. and lastly, the battery falls off the back(i think i might have done this from droping it too much but verizon dont need to know that ) so, basicly its a piece of crap
First, the bad news, is it possible that you have caused all the problems because of the constant dropping of the phone.? Now, the good news, since it is a refurb and only a week old, you can replace it with another refurb. They should not give you any trouble since it is a refurb and only a few days old. Most refurbs are at least as good as new. If you did not cause the problems by dropping it so many times, you were very unlucky with this particular phone. Statistically, you should be very happy with your exchanged phone.
What software version does the refurb have? It was addressed with software updates, but some older software versions (4 and previous i believe..) had problems with dropped calls and the phone deciding to turn itself off randomly..
Aviator FYI, the 4400 started on version 4, it's now up to 11.... version 8 was supposed to take care of that issue....
i think im jinxed or something bacause now my new one is always dying all the time (even when its plugged in) then it wont turn back on untill i take the battery off of it and put it back on...im gonna try to cancel my vzw contract by saying they breeched it first by giving me phones that dont work...probably wont work but its worth a try. then ill probably get a nextel...
To be fair to Nextel, anyone could use their direct connect, and some of their phone's features (GPS directions) are net, but their coverage isn't quite up to par when you leave a major urban area...
true, don't get me wrong i was just teasing Celly King, i would love to use some of Nextel's handsets which i have, but one time i got stuck on the freeway with my brand new spanking Nextel handset and couldn't make a call out, i had to walk about a mile to the nearest call box, cancelled my service that evening........
That is why our company got rid of Nextel, there were too many times where we needed to make a call but it wouldn't go through.
dont get me wrong, i like verizons service (epecially the large coverage area)but i've had lots of bad luck with verizon. The thing is, i just went camping and left my 4400 at home and took my mom's and now my 4400 is working fine and before, it wouldnt even turn on 1/2 the time. anyone have any explanations?
this had to be some kind of software glitch or bad hardware somewhere inside the phone..but who knows?
Verizon recommends to turn off your phone once a month to reboot it, kind off like a computer, remember we do have software on our phones....... so sometimes if your phones seems to freeze that will probably fix it for you...
hmmm about an hour ago my phone turned off again and now it wont turn back on...as mad as i am at vzw, im not sure if i can deal with nextel having so many places with no service. I mean, i live in michigan and with vzw you have service everywhere in michigan but with nextel you have service in less then 1/2 the state. im not sure what to do...
Celly, stay with vzw. You will eventually work out the bad phone problem. You cannot work out a no coverage problem. If you go to Nextel and get the greatest phone, without coverage, bascially you have a paperweight.
well keep in mind that besides Nextel and Verizon you have other carriers in your area, why not ask some of your friends which carrier they use and get some feedback to see how happy they are with other carriers besides Verizon.....
