Well, I've read up on the postings of how to use the free waptunnel posted on this forum. However, the Verizon Audiovox CDM-9500 doesn't have (at least I can't find) anything other than a place to change the homepage. The "proxy" options are uneditable unless there is some trick that I don't know of. Can someone please run through the setup on this phone?

    Thanks... hrana

F-00-Security code usualy all 0's. You will see a menu, I beleive it is 8 for web settings and you can go from there.

Speaking of codes, is there a comprehensive reference to all of the 'programming codes' and other hidden things that can be changed?

Woohoo! It works! So..F00 --> (all zero's for code) --> 8 (settings) --> 1 (web settinigs) --> ended up leaving Proxy 0 alone and changed Proxy 1 --> primary --> IP to the waptunnel settings (207.232.099.109) --> port 1201.

Now, you must change the homepage settings in the browser. So, go back to the idle screen. Hit the web soft button --> hit up arrow once to get to the drop down box and hit enter --> 8 (settings) --> 1 (homepage) --> hit okay on the warninig screen --> enter http://wap.oa.yahoo.com --> it may try to connect so just hit the no/hangup hardkey which may take you all the way out. Now go back to that settings screen and select 2 (proxy) --> then 2 again since we changed the second proxy in the service menu above. Now everything should be working perfectly. (do not forget that http:// otherwise you'll get an error)

The only other key sequence i have seen is this one:

Here is the key sequence copied from Rams in another thread.

turn the phone on press 289 (right arrow)(pound) 1 (down arrow) (Down arrow) (right arrow)
(down arrow) (down arrow) (down arrrow) (right arrow) enter text you want displayed press (send)
the arrows are located around the round button bellow mailbox icon.
if you get the sequence incorrect just look for IDLE BANNER enjoy....

And as always, it worked for me, but I take no responsiblity if you screw up your phone so make sure you know what you are doing. And make sure you know that you may be charged for use of your phone.

Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/audiovox9500 and look in Files section for the information.

P.S. To get to Debug menu do this:

    1. 1. Power phone off and then power it on.
      2. As soon as the phone comes up, hit F> and then 00. The code is 000000.

In a sense you are being "charged" airtime during nights and weekends, but since your bank is unlimited, it won't cost you anything.
