I ordered mine on Friday for $99 with a 2 year contract. Why are there huge price differences? Do they do price matching?

    Thanks

If there is anyway you can afford service now, I would snatch that phone up...I highly doubt they will last until July. They probably got one last shipment into their warehouse. It is back in Ohio too, also $49.99.

The CDM-9500 is back today at zip 84070 for $49.99 - now I have to give my wife the "puppy dog" eyes!!
Only bad part is that we still have 18 months left on our two year Verizon contract. Time to dial *611 and beg...

Crazyboy, hope you get that phone! looks like a good one.

Just curious, what's your primary reason for wanting to leave T Mob ?

I've been considering them here .....?..........

$50 in my area for the CDM9500

Is this phone substantially better (I see it's bigger) than a Samsung A310 ?

A number of my friends have the A310 and like it.

PA...what do you mean by substantially better? I have used both phones. Reception? 9500 blows the a310 away. Color screen? 9500 has the best one (with the possible exception of the a530 since I have never seen that one) Verizon has to offer. Battery life? both phones are pretty bad. If you care, the 9500 is Get It Now capable, wheras the a310 is not. I believe the a310 has a history of just freezing up for no apparent reason as well.

The only advantages I see in the a310 are the smaller size and the color caller ID. If you want a nice small phone with fairly bad reception and mediocre battery life, go for the a310. If you want a phone with reportedly the best reception of any recent Verizon phone, and the quality of Toshiba cell phone (branded as Audiovox) though not as sexy as the a310, go for the 9500. If you want a phone somewhere in between the two, go for an LG 4400.

The above is, of course, just my opinion!

Ok, here's the deal. I used the 9500 for 6 months and I ended up going to a samsung a310. Why? Read on.

9500--to big to carry comfortably in your pant or shirt pocket.
Marginally better signal reception than a310. I've tested them both side by side; it's not that much of a difference. I have never had a dropped call with the a310 in Chicago.
My friends say I sound the same whether it's with the 9500 or a310.
Reception, not much difference between the two. I can't tell.
Quality--a310 feels more expensive and looks more expensive.
Screen--due to the font size and layout of the 9500's screen, it ends up wasting a lot of space on it's screen, especially when your browsing the internet. The a310 with a smaller screen is easier to read than the 9500.
I get about 3 days of battery life with the a310--about 45 min call time and some web browsing per day.
9500, you'll be lucky to get about 15 hours.
No outside buttons on the 9500.
I don't care about down loading ring tones or get it crap. useless money waster.
The a310 is not a mediocre phone. It's a solid phone in a just right size package that gets the job done

I LOVED T-Mobile! It had th best anytime minutes for me and the internet was great...it is just I got NO signal at my house and in my area. I was so bummed and I really didn't want to leave but had to cause no one could get through to me. If you get signal with T-Mobile...then give them a try like I did. Maybe your results will be better then mine!

Thanks - I think their coverage around here is pretty good. The limitations are mostly I suspect due to the 1900 MHZ band and the "in building" coverage / lack of, and, people tell me they get dropped alot.
The GSM handoff isn't so graceful.

Glad to see that the 9500 is indeed back up online (zip 02135 and 02215... also glad that my rebate turned it into a $49.99 deal for me back in January), and I agree with AnthroMatt... get this one if you have a chance. They won't be in stock long. On a sadder note, after having been a faithful user of their services for 6 years, I may end up leaving VZW within the next month or so. I just recently made a move and went from getting a full signal in my old place to one bar/no bars/searching in my new place. I've contacted the Executive office and received a phone call today. Spent about a half hour on the phone with the customer service correspondent, and she went through a battery of tests to see which towers I'm receiving and sending to and is going to consult with the tech department to see if there's anything that they can do about the coverage and signal strength in this area. I'm expecting a call back on Friday, at the latest. I've found that, like in the past, contacting the executive office is the way to get things done when you need something from VZW.

In the unfortunate case that I do have to switch, I would like opinions as to which provider to go with. I don't spend a lot of time at home and will be traveling mostly into the city of Boston around eastern MA. However, I do want to have a decent signal at home, seeing that my cellular is my main line. All recommendations and comments are greatly appreciated. My roommate uses Cingular and I know that he gets a pretty good signal in this place. Thanks.

    BUmmedic,

How do you contact the "executive office"?
