Siebel is down again. I just called to deal with some corp. account issues I had been meaning to deal with for awhile, and nothing siebel is up and running. This includes about 3/4 of what customer care can do, and all new activations. This is the same system that went down during porting. I thought they had ditched the old legacy systems and fully transitioned to the new web based system, but I guess not. I wonder if they are moving to a new system tonight, or just having problems. They told me it would be down until 10:00PST Sunday.
That company is a trainwreck. I have them, and that's my opinion. CS has been good, but the computer system has been such a pain. Charged me for 2 months service for no reason, CS took care of that though. Decent coverage, but I must say I perfer CDMA.
Their biggest problem is their computer systems. They are all a mess, terribly slow and something is always down. Other than that, I think they have gotten a lot better. Coverage is pretty good here in DC, I don't think it is any worse than Cingular, Verizon etc.. in most places.
Isn't Siebel based in the SF Bay Area? I know they have a large presence in San Mateo, CA where I went to high school and where I was raised.
FYI- It was not down for a system update. System updates do not take out the entire system for upwards of 24 hours. No system update prevents a company from signing up customers for extended periods of time. Despite what care may tell you, a system update is not what is going on. Perhaps a system update is what screwed up Siebel to begin with, but the update alone wouldn't take it out for that long.
It was supposed to be down from sat. 5pm til sunday 10 am pst... Of course it didnt go as planned... Last msg I got that it was still down, so another selling day lost.. BTW care didnt tell me this I'm in a privilaged position to know this info..
Good old Siebel, They are a nightmare for a lot of companies. Can't wait for the merger. AT&T should fire them for all there problems.
Which has no relation to AT&T Corporation whatsoever, except for the name which is "rented" by the owners of ATTWS, the McCaw (?) family. My uncle in Raleigh just escaped by porting from ATTWS to VZW. When I told him that ATTWS had no relation to AT&T Corp, he said he knew that. He is a PR rep and was involved when Bell Atlantic Mobile came to the Raleigh area. (The Triad, where I live, is an old GTE MobilNet property.) James Earl Jones was still the spokesperson or whatever then ("Welcome to Bell Atlantic Mobile" I guess), and my uncle and his coworkers met with him and all the higher-ups in BAMS. Roaming agreements and Verizon's America's Choice plan have shattered the stronghold AT&T Wireless once had on the business market. Now, either VZW or Sprint PCS is the carrier of choice for businesses. Cingular would be best served by throwing the AT&T Wireless name back to AT&T Corp. to deal with. (I really don't much like AT&T Corp. either. They have some major telemarketing issues to deal with. One more call and I'm yanking my landline long distance and giving it to Verizon Communications.)
