I have noticed on the ATT customer care website that per minute air time rates have increased substantially. How does this change affect accounts which were open before the implementation occured, on June 2nd, 2002? Are roaming and overage rates locked into contract along with off peak time frames, or are they variable?
Subscribers have always historically kept the features of the plan they are on whenever carriers introduce new plans. There has not been any indication from ATT that they plan on changing that policy. However, you might be interested in reading this thread: Nextel setting pace???
AT&T just wants to compensate for their launch of the National Network plans that have no roaming charges across their network. If it were up to them they would've never launched such plans. However, competition forced them so they want to make up for the profit loss somehow.
