seems the 4.99 messaging starter plan is gone now, i take this to mean 1 0f 2 things 1. att is slowly but surly going to all bussiness plans 2. att is more gready then i thought. either way looks like att is running off individual accts.
It is not entirely gone. They will bring it back next year, but only for peole sixty five years and older. Then they will make it sound like they are doing the greatest thing in the world.
Maybe they are finally starting to revamp their data plans and charges to simplify them. In my opinion they have too many choices that are confusing. With their unlimited sms plans they can simplify a lot and the cost factor of adding unlimited sms to other AT&T customers has really become a moot point, it's cheaper to get a regular unlimited sms plan with a data plan. Maybe they are going to a similar setup like Verizon, 1 price for unlimited data on non-smart/pda phones? For me it's a tough choice, go with a 1MB data plan for $4.99 or unlimited for $19.99 when I have unlimited SMS, there are no decent middle of the road data plans without loosing my unlimited SMS plan on my account.
i agree with Fire14.........there are a lot of combos......i think that they should just offer it all seperately like all the normal companies do and then if the customer chooses a text and data plan together then give a discount.........you know........makes things a lot more simple
i remember my first cell phone, past a credit check, paid $25.00 for my bag phone (which i still have) and no contract..........ya the good o'l days
its needs to work like this media plan : 5, 15, unlimited Text plan :200, 700, 1500, unlimited each is separate.
They can. It cost less than a cent to send or receive it. This way they get people purchasing a plan, increasing ARPU
the 20c that most companies now charge is overpriced seriously................its just them making money............but they arent losing money by having you spend $20 for unlimited instead of $1000 for pay-per-use
this is why i still use my net 10 phone for messaging, as well as for phone calls more dependable and cheeper then att
Re: messaging plan . I'm seriously considering a new phone & provider. I'm not a messager'- but if I was Sprint SERO with free unlimited messaging starting at $30 for 500 prime talk min & 7pm evenings looks very attractive. This looks good even just for the phone service . . . Sprint didn't use to require a contract - if they still didn't I'd be there right now. I really don't want another " 2yr deal" with ANYONE. I'll probably will go Sprint anyways (30 day trial at least), SERO looks like the best program going by far . . . Best. TB imo
honestly once you get the phone and plan activated you wont ever need to call customer service anyway cuz everything is just so perfect and you wont want to leave cuz you'd never get so much stuff for that price anywhere else and in my area at least i think the network is very competitive especially since its EV-DO Rev A for miles around
Re: messaging plan Sweet - Free ship is a plus, 1yr contract's a solid incentive! Why didn't you do it? Best. TB
Re: messaging plan i don't remember that post. must have been my mistake, but to ans.your question i don't want anymore contracts with att.
first off who ever told you that they were gone has no clue what they are talking about...i am a rep for att and i sell the starter package everyday....and the 1mb of media net...i can tell you what we offer and what we don't ohh yeah and the 1500 the other guy was talking about is still there too......if you have any specific questions feel free to ask....ill do my best to answer them...thanks
My att contract is finally up - I'm seriously considering switching carriers - is there any "off the record" or other little known incentives to make staying with att more attractive? Verizon offers work related discounts - I can get Sprint SERO w/7pm evenings & T-Mobile has some very attractive So. Cal special offers . . . . Details - 8 yrs with Cingular (currently basic 2 line family plan - talk only - could drop to 1 line) - previous Sprint customer. From what I understand from associates - our local area is well served by Verizon, Sprint & T-Mobile as well. Thanks . . . .
yes there is incentives if your a loyal cust then you get discounts on phones at time of upgrade and no upgrade fee....also we have unity which if you have a att home phone you will get all att phone lines wire, wireless, and bellsouth be considered m2m....also we give corprate discounts also.....so yes there are many things that can be done..
