Help I need to get out of my contract I 8 months left on it and I dont want to pay. I hate ATT our service has been crap and we get crappy reception out at my house pleassssssseeeeeeee heeeeeelllllllllllllllpppppppppppp.
Write a well-thought-out, clear letter without being nasty or threatening to the CEO. Explain your problem, thank him for his time, and include your wireless #, account #, home phone #, address, and name. If the service is so horrible, why did you wait 4 months (or 16, if you had a 2-year contract) to get out of it? AT&T have a 30-day trial period. Surely within 30 days you would have figured out that the service was not right for you.
MAIL IT! Do you know how much bs e-mail people get every day. If it's a personal letter, they'll read it. If it's e-mail, they'll scan it, see it's a complaint, and delete it. Postal mail shows time and effort. E-mail shows laziness and apathy. P
ATT CONTRACT HELP; For contract help you can find some relief. Because there is states, that want to put special laws on the books that would protect consumer from unfair billing practices like unfair cancelation fees. But, until this is changed in all states, the way to go is online. You can and all should contact the Federal Communications Commission. http://www.fcc.gov/ You can file a complaint with them that the company will have to answer to. Sincerely, GMaOutlaw
I didn't look at the date this was posted, but I was wondering myself how anyone could still be in contract with AT&T Wireless.
So sorry to bring you out of your realm.....I just joined and thought I would put my own 2 cents in on this issue regardless of which Company. I guess I should of addresses it to Anyone STILL NEEDING WIRELESS CONTRACT HELP!!!!!!! Please forgive me, Sincerely, GMaOutlaw
Don't worry about it. I'll google a wireless question every now and then and it will take me to an ancient thread. I've almost commented on a couple of them before realizing that the last post was about 2 years ago! It's not the first time it's happened and I'm sure it won't be the last. :lmao:
How is a cancellation fee unfair? You signed the contract that had the cancellation fee clause in it. No, really, read that again. YOU SIGNED THE CONTRACT that had the cancellation fee clause in it. Nobody forced you to do it, you could have turned around and walked away and gone with a provider that doesn't require a contract. You don't sign contracts you don't want to be held to, they're legal documents. Not reading the contract before signing and then complaining about its terms strikes me as totally shortsighted. Write to the FCC if you don't like them -- write away! -- but contracts of this nature (DSL, satellite TV, etc., going all the way back to Columbia House and BMG direct music-sales services) have been challenged in court and upheld, so the best way to make them stop happening is to stop agreeing to them, and take your business to a company that doesn't require them. As more people do it, those who require contracts will either entice you back with better deals, or abolish the contracts.
