    Yes, now I can text my non iPhone, non WhatsApp friends. I just wonder if they will text me back? I don't know what they pay for overseas SMS.

    Things are changing fast with the carriers. I feel like they are giving cool things away. I think Tmobile is pushing them to compete.

    I do agree that the competition between the carriers here in the US is definitely starting to heat up. Just recently I put a call into AT&T to review my wireless plan and they offered me free messaging for a period of 6 months and a $10 credit off my bill each month for the next year. I took them up on this offer as I didn't have to sign a contract, my FAN discount still applied and I get to keep my unlimited data plan. Verizon's only offer to keep my business with them was a stupid $60/month loyalty plan than required a 1 year contract and a FAN discount wasn't allowed.
