AT&T Service in Westchester Co., NY I always knew there had to be some limitations to cellular service, but I didn't know it would be this bad. Nearly 70% of the places I need to have a cell phone work I get the dreaded "No Service" message. Sections of Ossining, Briarcliff, Millwood, Armonk, Bedford and Katonah -- just to name a few -- are a complete blackout. What irks me though, is seeing people with Verizon getting a good signal and chatting away in these same locals. And I know my phone is functioning correctly, because when I ask other AT&T users to look at their signal strength (or lack of), it is on a par with mine. If I can offer one piece of advice to anyone who is thinking of buying cellular service from the aforementioned provider: Please! By as many means as possible, make sure you have coverage in the areas that you mainly travel to, work in, or reside.
Coverage and reception isn't great in NYC either. I dropped them for Verizon about a month ago. And I just love getting 4 bars on my phone just about everywhere, including indoors. Obviously, AT&T have their problems in NYC and environs.
I have AT&T in Westchester, NY & the only way to get a good signal is to use a car kit with a roof top antenna, take it out of the car kit= no service. Using a Nokia 6360 & Nokia Car Kit.
