I added a line to my account. I would think that activating the phone would be easy. It took an hour to activate the line, and I had to talk to 5 different service reps. Why is AT&T so challenging? I went onto AT&T's web site on Sunday morning to review my account, and their whole consumer web site was down for "routine maintenance". It is still down after hours. I added an AT&T 3G micro cell to my house. 24 hours later it still is not activated. They are saying they have a system-wide error in their micro cell activation process, and it could be another 24 hours before fixed. Then they thought that my error code may be unrelated to the outage. Could there be anything more wrong with AT&T's service processes? We're roped into AT&T, for now, but people should strongly consider other carriers.
We just started 3 wireless lines with AT&T a week ago. So far, so good. But, I am still a little apprehensive about service and furthermore..customer service reps. At this point, they have been knowledgable and available. We have used Verizon with little issue, and Sprint was even better. The iPhone and free calling to any mobile # will save us a lot of $$ over Verizon. I hope AT&T continues to work well. Sorry to hear of some troubles for you.
I am hoping to have a good experience with AT&T,I just switched from T mobile due to their unloyalty program was overcharged twice and their customer service sucks. So far they have been good but I agree that you have several steps to follow to get started wish us all AT$T customers good luck
