This is exactly why I was so unhappy about the proposed merger. AT&T's lousy service is certainly not going to be improved by disposing of $3B worth of airways

Great news and kudos to Sprint for leading the spearhead to block this.

I've read across different forums from both sides on this issue. As for myself, I opposed this merger. Simply put, AT&T has got caught lying to get this passed and they continue to lie. Also, history has already shown that less direct competition raises prices and harms consumers.

The corporate shills all say that AT&T needs the spectrum and won't be able to invest, etc. Well, the last time I checked, AT&T hoards A LOT of spectrum and they don't do much of investment anyway so how is that a threat? Look at their 3G network...its swiss cheese because AT&T was lazy. If AT&T wanted to make a thing for themselves they could've invested and had a great robust network. Instead they sat on their ___ doing nothing and now say T-Mobile is needed to survive and we all know that is BS. If this merger goes through, a lower priced competitor will be gone and AT&T will continue to do nothing as it will have even less incentive to do anything IMO.

I think this is good news. I am usually hands off when it comes to government regulation, but this is not. They should only step in to block anticompetitive mergers and to break up a business that is anticompetitive.
