Well I have seen some Cingular Corp stores where their Orange started going with white and blue and I was told that a lot of the banners are basicaly ready and some stores already have but all they need is to be told to change all. I realy never thought it would happen before the New Year. just wow.
I saw how their stores and even the web site starting to use more Blue vs Orange, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep some of the orange color since it compliments the blue. I am still suprised at how fast they plan on changing the Cingular name & expected that near the end of 07 beginning of 08, not the beginning of 07.
Well to be honest, from my point of view this is exactly what I expected, just look how fast SBC disapeared in favor of at&t. I see that Cinglular brand name will see a major marketing campaign where all will see the name change heppening and they propably think that this will drive more people into their stores as the name will get extra attention. I will give the Cingualr name a 6 month time frame to be gone in favor of the new name.
All those websites were already built long before this approval. All they had to do is change the redirection of the web pages to the new ones.
If they were this prepared I think the Cingular name will only last the first quarter of 2007. They seem so eager to dump it and like someone noted before, SBC dumped the name and took the at&t name quite fast.
There was a lot of news after SBC purchased T concerning the re branding of Cingular in the USA. It was going to carry the AT&T brand in all areas that SBC had covered with their wireline service. That died down with the announcement of the purchase of Bellsouth. I believe it will happen very soon also.
***********************DONE DEAL************************* Merger Approval Means Cingular Will Be Renamed AT&T Today, 10:03 PM source: AT&T The FCC approved the merger between BellSouth and the new AT&T (formerly SBC) last Friday. Immediately after the approval was announced, AT&T posted information on how the merger will affect its various businesses including Cingular. Cingular is a joint venture of AT&T and BellSouth. The company will begin to rebrand Cingular as AT&T in early 2007, however it might not call the service AT&T Wireless. AT&T has not announced any specifics about the change, except to explain that customers will be able to keep their current phones and calling plans, and that AT&T will offer bundles including wireless service in addition to wireline voice and data plans.
