U.S. wireless-phone customers more satisfied, J.D. Power finds - MarketWatch T-Mobile = 108 pts AT&T = 101 pts VZW = 100 pts Sprint = 92 pts J.D. Power said 81% of the 10,500 wireless subscribers contacted for its twice-a-year survey reported their problems were "resolved in a timely manner," up from 75% in 2004. Customers reported fewer dropped calls or loss of coverage.
Maybe the subject line should be changed to "T-Mobile wins again" (Larry and Bobo will appreciate it more then). The full release. 2007 Wireless Customer Care Performance Study - V2 | J.D. Power and Associates
This leads me to again say that perceptions do change and that Sprint can improve. I never expectedtnat AT&T would edge VZW on the JD survey. But I would say it would be hard for any one to beat T Mobile right now unless T Mobile messes up royaly.
LOL yeah way to go again T-Mobile. Good to see my provider on the bottom even though it does nothing for me.
If my service was not so good I may have walked from AT&T/Cingular last winter, why can they not get my upgrade eligibilty correct?? They still need work on the customer service end.
From my personal experience with VZW, it's not surprising they have fallen. I have recently watched some friends with VZW have trouble with service and CS. I have no experience with AT&T. But my personal experience with T-Mobile has been exceptional! A live person takes the call almost immediately, and they tell me to take my time, never hurried, and something they do better than the others is to be honest about coverage, billing, and what to expect from their service and devices. T-Mobile maybe has an edge on Alltel CS, but they have been pretty close, from my experiences.
Well to be honest I just don't see Verizon making many improvements to their network (at least around here). All other carriers are cooking in that department and at some point will have taken the coverage lead away from Verizon. Maybe that time has come?
I think the past two years verizon has slipped because more people have been switching to them, at least in my area. I don't think they can keep up with supply. That said, I do think they are resting on their laurels and need to do better to compete. I think their phone lineup is much improved over the years. Five years ago I said this: Best phone selection: Sprint Best C/S: Cingular (when they moved south out of Philly) Best Service: Verizon Biggest Phones: Nextel Now its a toss up.
Withthe cell phone industry I see every thing going in cycles and one would get to brag in one way while the other gets to brag geh other way. Can't wait for 2008 when all the top ones are done witht heir tweeks and then we can have them stand behind their service.
My spin on this news...since I always look at the odd side: Very good news: overall all the providers are giving better CS...no one has gone down. In 2 years the improvement went from 75% to 81% And they are almost all the same. The report didn't say what the margin of error is, but probably it is around 3 to 5 points. So I think the point is that everybody improved over the last 2 years...and they are all equally good, with Tmobile being only slightly better. Individual experiences will differ of course, but the 10,000 people show the real trend. vf
