LTE is part of the GSM upgrade path, not cdma's. Its that simple.

Yes it is, but it has nothing to do with GSM itself. Just because you pick vista to upgrade to on your computer doesn't mean you had to have used XP or windows before that. The path that carrier's chose and the GSMA picked to upgrade to doesn't mean it has a single thing to do with 2G GSM.

LTE is not GSM, LTE is not CDMA. However, the principles of lte and the future wireless air interface options resemble cdma much more then they do GSM. Oh and btw, if verizon is choosing to go to LTE, almost all other cdma carrier's are, how isn't LTE CDMA's path? The only reason there isn't a monolith path label is because qualcomm doesn't have a monopoly over it anymore like they did with original cdma.

But believe what you have to about it, that's fine.

Here is an interesting article regarding the spectrum trade or potential one anyway...

I'm thinking that VZW is going to sell a good part of their towers to US Cellular because they are roaming partners. At least they are in Wisconsin. Not because it would improve VZW's reception but because it would improve US Cellular's nationwide reception. But not to the point that VZW would have to be that concerned about losing customers to them. Now, I could be way off, but thats why I like this site. If I am, there's plenty of extremely Knowledgeable people to straighten me out. lol
