That's the same with my tablet. Some of those are can simply be uninstalled like any other app, I believe Omlet chat is one of them.

I use the Asus Calendar and E Mail, interestingly they are very similar to the Apple calendar and email so it works for me.

I only have a 16 gb device but since it is just a toy for me, I don't have much on it and no problem with internal space. It also accepts micro sd cards so that's a plus if I get to that point.

Be prepared for tons of updates on the Asus apps. :D

LOL! That's how it's spelled, Omlet chat. I thought it was Omelet chat when I glanced at it. All I could thing of when I saw it was, "Here's egg in your face".

In reading through the Asus Zenfone 2 forum I am basically seeing all the normal questions/problems that get posted with any new phone.

It has an Intel processor, which gets a little hotter than the Qualcomm processor when playing games, but it's not that hot. You'd swear some kids have burned their hands off from some of the posts.

It has quick charge technology. I guess it starts charging at 9V until it reaches 60% and then goes down to 5v. It does get warm when it starts to charge and that freaks a lot of people out.

There's a lot of camera complaints, I don't know if these people are not tapping to focus or tapping and holding to lock the focus. The camera doesn't have OIC, so you need a steady hand. The camera has been fine for me.

The battery life has been exceptional. I could go almost two days on a single charge, then again I only install a couple of applications and I don't let them run in the background, like Skype.

I like seeing Asus updating the ZenFone.

How does it compare to other Android devices you have had palandri?

    I haven't had a lot of Android phones. A Samsung Galaxy 2, a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 5.

The Intel CPU is powerful, but it uses a lot of power. I have no problem getting two days out of a full charge, but if you have a lot of applications running, the battery drains in less that 8 hours. The biggest complaints about battery life comes from kids running a half dozen social media applications and playing intense games. They all claim the battery last 5 hours or less.

The phone uses a lot of RAM with minimal applications starting. If you have a Zenfone with 4GB of RAM it will use at least 1.5GB on startup, but you'll be fine. If you have a 2GB Zenfone you basically have to have everything application denied on start up.

Asus should have just loaded pure Android on the phone. There's numerous duplicate Asus applications and stupid Asus applications that you can't delete, like partytime, omlet chat...

A few of the updates have caused problems requiring clearing the cache or a factory reset. Now to me it's no big deal since I only have a couple of applications downloaded on it.

The case is very cheap. If you drop it without a 2 piece rubber/hard plastic case, say good bye to it.

I like the idea of 2 SIM slots. The 1st slot gives you voice/text/data. The 2nd slot gives you voice/text, but no data. I'll be in France soon and I'll put my AT&T SIM card in slot 2 and a local French SIM card in slot 1. Hopefully slot 2 will allow my AT&T SIM card to roam.

I have the 4GB RAM 64GB storage model, which was $299. It's really hard to beat it for that price.

With my 118GB music collection I could see loading a phone like that with my collection and maybe a few movies.

There are some people who can't afford a large data plan for a streaming service, or don't have access to good WiFi. Also when traveling your destination maybe in a complete dead zone and you want to keep entertained.

For those interested, since we normally don't see dual SIM card phones in the states. Here is what my phone shows.

Picture #1 screenshot of top of phone: 4G SIM 1 in green, R SIM 2 (SIM 1 is my French Bouygues SIM card, SIM 2 is my stateside AT&T SIM card, the R means roaming. SIM card 1 has voice/text/internet SIM card 2 has voice and text only, no internet.

Picture #2 When I go to make a call, I can select SIM card 1 or SIM card 2

Picture #3 When I go to send a SMS or MMS text message I can select to send it from SIM 1 or 2 screen1.jpg screen2.jpg screen3.jpg

I wish more dual SIM choices were out there. I would of gone that route instead of porting my second number to Comcast.

It's not like there's a big price increase to add a 2nd SIM slot, which the price of the Zenfone 2 shows. Plus it's relativity inexpensive to keep a 2nd SIM card active with only voice and text and no internet.

I ran into an issue with my Zenfone 2 yesterday. I started a job at a high school and the cell reception at the school was terrible. I have AT&T, one of the other guys had Verizon and another guy had T-Mobile, all of us had terrible reception, many times -0- reception.

My phone was at 96% when I started and I connected to the school wifi. I know a phone is going to use a lot of battery power searching for a signal.

My phone is normally at 40-50% when I plug it in at night. I've had no battery power issues at all

Yesterday, after 5 hours at the school, my phone was dead. I thought I must have broke it by bumping into something.

When I got home I plugged it in and I didn't even get the battery icon, and I couldn't turn it on, so I thought the phone was gone. This morning the phone turned on and is fine. I am guessing the Intel processor using a lot of power constantly searching for a signal. A lot more than the Snapdragon processor. I am going to monitor it more closely today

@palandri: So I searched the web. Here, supposedly, is one solution to turn off cellular radio thus reducing drag on battery:

"Put phone into "Airplane Mode" first, then turn on WiFi.
    It works like a charm."
