Hi, there: Could I get some advice about the cell phone plan? I will almost use my cell phone as a portable local phone in Boston (Downtown and some nearby towns like Sommerville, Cambridge, Newton). So the long night&weekend free time is not very useful for me, I guess 500 minutes/month of such free minutes is absolutely enough for me. But I hope to get more free anytime minutes than those typically available in the plans I get informed of. 500 minutes should be enough for me, according to my friend's experience. So I want to get a good deal for my usage scenario, which seems not well matching the popular plans. Could someone give me some advice? Thanks a lot, Daniel
I am not very clear about the market price. Personally I hope to find a deal no more than $30/month and free phone. I am wondering whether it is reasonable. Thanks. Daniel
I don't see why it isn't reasonable Aiwa. The Cingular nation plan 250, gives you 250 anytime minutes, and 1000 nite and weekend minutes. yd said that he needed 500 OFF-PEAK and PEAK minutes. Sure there isn't 500 peak minutes, but it's a great deal. yd you could go with a cingular home plan, but why not get the free roaming at no extra $. Check out Cingular.com They currectly have a free phone too (Ericsson R278d). Cingular is your company, whether you go with a 250 (29.99) or 400 (39.99) plan, they still have the free phone offer.
You might want to check out VoiceStream if you stick mostly to the Boston metro area. There rural coverage is pretty weak given there technology, but it sounds like to me that you are mostly going to be sticking to the city in which case they might be ok for you. VoiceStream gives you more anytime minutes then any other company that I can think of off the top of my head. Check there maps very carefully though since I don't know about there coverage in your area or to where you travel. The plan you might want to think about with them is the the Get More Plan which gives you 500 anytime minutes and unlimited weekends with no roaming or long distance charges across the US for $39.99 a month. The only bad thing is if you need night time minutes you definately don't want to go with VoiceStream. VoiceStream
