Is anyone else getting sick of the cold yet? Right now here it's -20 with the windchill. I don't mind winter and the snow, but dislike the high winds and polar temps. P.S: I can see polar bears on Lake Huron now.
Your arctic air is on it's way here to the Northeast, I am the opposite I do not like winter at all. Had it not been for my job for which I am grateful I would be setting up camp in Arizona.
I'm sorry to pass the burden to you lol. Someday I wish to have a winter vacation home somewhere where it's warm. So that when it gets cold like this, I can escape and go there.
Hey, come on out to California! It was 90 degrees here today. L.A.'s one of the hottest places in the country right now (and celebrities have nothing to do with it...). I'd prefer Winter myself, but we're in the middle of a strong Santa Ana (hot and very windy), and we'll stay this way through the weekend.
We in the Northeast could use some LA warmth about now. I am near josephd, maybe a few degrees warmer, and it's not supposed to be above 20 F (without wind chill) for the next 4 days. Friday will have a high of around 14 F. SW
That is my plan...to someday have a warm winter home to go to! Tomorrow night it is supposed to be -15 air temp...-40 with wind chill
You're welcome, Joe... Now get your frostbitten butt out here to SoCal and enjoy a cold beer on a hot January "Santa Ana" day ! :cheers2: That goes for the rest of y'all, too!!! We'll have a "Summer in January Wireless Advisor California Get-together Bash"! I'm likin' this idea...:browani:
I like that idea. Wait a minute Joe, it was MY Artic Blast that I sent to you with TLC. . Racine, WI reporting in at 5 above, snow and wc of -10. The high tomorrow will be -1(low -18) with WC of -30 to -45 tonight through Friday PM. Heat wave on Sunday with a high of 25. Alienware_51, we are getting lake effect snow, could you please keep that stuff over on your side of the Big Pond, specially since you like snow.
Here in South Carolina, our low this Friday for my location is 8Âş and the wind chill will be just below zero!
Ugh... I want weather like that, I don't care for cold weather much. Today isn't going to be too bad but tomorrow a low of 6 and a high of 22, brr.... that's too cold. Thank god I'm not further up north it's even gonna be worse up there!
TLC??I am starting to wonder about you Charlyee, how come all your weather ends up over here, I thought we were friends? I had to keep looking at my hands on the trash route today to make sure my fingers were still there, I don't know what was colder the hands or my face.
Mike I will personally drive him there and you can keep him, after you get tired of the wind chills, snow and ice you will be begging for your awful 80+ degree sunny weather you are having.
Here is the weather in my area of Florida (the highs are around 10 degrees lower than they should be for this time of year):
I am completely jealous. I wish I could be down there now. Charlyee, I would gladly take your snow off of your hands. We were getting some lake effect off of Lake Huron today due to north/northeast winds. However, we get lake effect everyday usually, gets annoying after awhile. We have a windchill advisory in effect right now, Thursday night and into Friday morning, we are supposed to have -45 windchill and up to -50 below in some areas. I also like the idea of a WA member meet up in balmy California just give me the dates and I'll fly out of this big deep freezer ASAP. Hopefully the air is thick enough for the plane to fly in
I see that in the summer time sometimes here in SC. 70Âş is freezing to lots of the natives here, meanwhile that's hot to me. (From NJ most of my life, and can tolerate extreme heat or cold, but not humidity or wind chill). I can literally tolerate 0Âş to 100Âş if there is no humidity or wind chill.
When I visited Arizona a few years ago it was about 65 to 70 degrees during the day, some of the Natives there looked at me like I was nuts since I was in shorts and a t-shirt. When I left home it was bitter cold so that was a heatwave to me and boy did it feel good.
At night a jacket and shorts and t-shirt is fine for me. I have seen people get bundled up when it hits the mid 60s at night. But pants and a heavy jacket in the morning are needed especially during a tour when we are out in the open on an airboat going 50 to 55 mph. I only will wear pants if it is 55 or below for the high during the day. If not, then shorts and a shirt are the usual attire. When you have lived down here for 15 years, your body gets adjusted to the different environment. But when I used to live in central Illinois, we would get cold during the winter. I remember back in the late 80s it was -25 for the low with the wind chill around -50 or colder for the low one night. Now that was cold. That was also the winter where my city got hit with an ice storm that had around an inch of ice covering everything. The pipes also froze at most locations that winter too. I remember getting dressed by our fireplace since the power was out during the ice storm and sleeping in a fully insulated sleeping bag underneath the covers in my bedroom. So I have been through cold conditions but not for a while. I prefer to live in "warmer" conditions.
It's not all her fault, I keep sending my cold weather to her. It is currently -11 here (air temp, not wind chill), on our way to about -20 to -25 tomorrow morning with wind chills in the 40 to 50 below range.
It would be very nice if we could get some snow with this arctic chill expected here Friday & Saturday. Too bad we're not expecting anything... Man I miss all the snow.
It is really buickman, he is closer to the Artic than I am. I just add the TLC before forwarding it to you. Beautiful blue skies with temperature 16 below and wc of 37 below at present.
