i believe the crash predominantly happens with iOS 7 on devices running 64 bit processor as in iPhone 5s and iPad Air.

My iPhone 5 has been fine with iOS 7 as was my ipad2. My iPad Air on the other hand reboots 3-4 times per week minimum.

There is a very small percentage of retina iPad Mini, that has rebooted/crashed and that's not 64 bit but that's not typical.

iOS 7.1, beta 4 has already been released, it should be released earlier than March, why so long?

My wife's 5S never has had this crash either. According to other sources it affects all models on iOS 7. However I thought it was affecting only single digits % of users- which is a lot of people, but not outstanding.

I think for a x.1 update, the roll out testing period is near normal. I also think it's been a tricky bug to fix given that most are unaffected.

I don't get why your name is above?

I don't know how much stock to put in the article that it's iOS 7 that's a problem, yeah I know I am the one who posted it. :D. It definitely has something to do with 64 bit processor devices as well as iOS 7.

From my experience, the easiest way to prevent Safari crashing and device reboots is to not have too many tabs open and also not to have too many apps open in the background. Perhaps those that are not experiencing a problem do follow this anyway as their normal usage pattern.

The crash report almost always cites "low memory".

It's quite a widespread problem and I don't believe most are unaffected, this is probably why Apple is going through taking time to make sure the update works.

I have some business travel coming up and not taking my MBP, so far the reboots have not caused any data loss and I am hoping it stays that way through my travel.

I almost regret trading in my iPad2 or atleast waiting until the problem was fixed, it never occurred to me that there would be any such problem based on my experience with my iPad 2 and my iPhone 5.

The quote wasn't from you Charlyee. Tapatalk for some reasons made it that way. Thanks for the Mod that fixed it.
It was from another site, based on that editors view of the collection of threads.

7.1 has lots of new things inside. However, I hope the crash fix works for you and others.

    Thanks vf.

That's weird I still see my name on that quote in Tapatalk but not when I view it on the full site.

Huh, that is what I saw this morning too. I thought what I saw on the web page meant it was fixed. Just checked Tapatalk, and yep, you're right. Still there. Yet when I go to edit mode...your name is not in the quotation. ???

Lots of funny things with Tapatalk lately

    Tapatalk sucks! :p

But I too have never experienced this issue on my lowly, outdated iPhone 5. :p
