    Good, then we agree.
It was a surprise to me that that the 6+ felt so good in my hand. It's the curved sides and thinness that help. For me, a guy, and my personal habits the phone size is too big. And that is the main difference. An important one if you need the image size it provides- which is very good for photos, movies. And more.

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to holding a camera still so image stabilization is not too critical. And I expect it will be on the 6S. The bigger battery is always good. It's better than the 6.

Being on Next 12 now, I will upgrade for every model and stay in the 4.7" size.

    Waiting for your 6+ review.

One reason that I wouldn't go larger than my current 4.7" iPhone 6 size:
If it fits, don't change it! Magically, the iPhone 6, even with the Apple leather case on, fits my Klipsch sound dock!

It's always a good thing when the accessories from our old iPhones work with the new ones as well. I was was happy that the arm band that I used with my Note 3 fit well with my iPhone 6. *sigh*, unfortunately I won't be able to use it with my 6 Plus also.

Well I have had mine for a day and a half and everything is good so far.

So far I have noticed, compared to my 5s:

    1. It's faster and smoother.
    2. The battery life is noticeably better - I will get more quantitative data on this charge cycle.
    3. The Touch ID is improved.

It appears to have lost the distinctive look of the iPhones and looks like Smartphones from HTC, Samsung etc imo. It's probably the curved sides that contribute to this but that also makes the phone nicer and easier to hold.

my impression too: it seemed faster and smoother, and the touch ID was more reliable and faster to open. I like the curved corners, and it does remind me of the 3G series...but this is better with the flat back. Some say it reminds them most of the iPhone 1, which I never owned...eek...but I can see that with the metal back.

I definitely see a difference in the speed and smoothness between the 5S and my 6 and yes, the battery life is incredibly good on the 6. I was able to get over 2 days of standby time and 12 hours of usage after updating to iOS 8.1. As far as the Touch ID goes, I never had a problem with it on my 5S after the last update before iOS 8.

The battery percentage meter is probably not linear but this is what I have so far. Very impressive.

Here is the final number. This is the first full battery cycle, so it can only be better. It's a combination of lte and wifi, 50/50.

I am impressed and happy. :)

The speed tests have been pretty consistent, not spectacular but reasonably good. [IMG]

There isn't a simple answer for that. I wanted to get on a better upgrade schedule as opposed to getting a new phone in mid July.

So from that perspective yes I am glad I upgraded.

However, if I leave that point out then the upgrade to 6 from 5s isn't worth it in my opinion. Other than the size everything else is a spec bump and nothing earth shattering.

Well you know I disagree with you. But this is fine.

And what about the shape. Still prefer the squarish 4 and 5?

I would have to agree with you as far as the spec bump with the 6. I think the 6 was well done in terms of battery life, screen size (needed 1080p, though, imho), and thinness. I believe the camera is good but not too much better than the 5S other than a few added features. After using my 6 Plus for the past week I really think Apple should have given some of its features to the 6.

It's really a question of Apple putting features in the 6 that you guys don't use, so it seems like a minor spec bump. But admittedly the screen is a big one for most and what they have been screaming for.

Probably the 6S will have the 6+'features. But they are not important to me.

    Just the way it works.

5/5s isn't squarish. In fact, 6 is more squarish than 5, although the screen aspect ratio is almost the same. 6+ is the most squarish of the post-4s ones (if you can call something that's more than twice as long as it is wide squarish)

Yes I do except for the sharp edges. :)

What I really like in the 4.7" screen size, is the shape of the Moto X.

    The newest device won ;)

Yesterday I saw my friend's silver 5s sitting on the counter and realized again, what a great looking device it was and how ordinary, boring and Samy like ( :D ) my 6 looked.

I guess I just have to keep telling myself that I made a logical decision and also would have had to give up the 5s sometime.

I love new phones so much that an imagined 'only a spec bump' or something more important is sufficiently enough of a reason to upgrade.

Since when has ' a spec bump' become a negative? I've know geeks like us who gets phones (or two) just to try them out and to give reviews.

Ah "just to try them out" is the keyword in there, as opposed it being the daily driver. :)

The iPhone 6 has a great champion in you it doesn't need my buy in. ;)

There is something that I do like over the 5s, the screen. It is just large enough that I can continue to read on the Kindle app from the phone after I started on the ipad. I never could comfortably on the 5s.

I am stuck with it for a year, but it's not a bad phone to be stuck with. It works well and as intended.

The "just a spec bump" is not a negative in itself. Plopping down $$$ for "just a spec bump" is :) But as I said before, it's very subjective. You seem to fall into the category of "every h/w update is worth the money". I on the other hand (as much as I like getting new toys) fall into the "need major differences to spend the money" category.

Hey dmapr, how often do you upgrade your phones? Just curious. :)

I think I'm like VF in that I will purchase a new iPhone every year even though I might not be happy with the prospect of them only having a spec bump over last years model. I believe in my case, if Apple had given the regular 6 a 1080P screen and OIS, and a larger battery as they did with the 6 Plus, I probably would have been perfectly happy with the 6 and passed on the 6 Plus. It's tough this year because Apple went end made 2 good iPhone models instead of one. I know they did it to compete with the Samsung Note line, but I don't see why they had to go with less pixels on the 6 when they increased the size of it over the 5S anyway.

As someone like yourself who upgrades to the newest iPhone every year, I do understand what you are saying here. I can remember a few other iPhones that I had that were basically just spec bumps as well, but yet I was perfectly happy with them. If it was a case of just a regular 6 this year and not a 6 Plus with added features and specs I think I would have been perfectly happy with the 6. I will say, though, that I did fire my 6 up today to keep it in use and although it was tough going back to the smaller screen, I still like it and can see why a lot of people like it so much compared to the 5S. :)

As I said, depends on when I detect a huge gap. Went from Nokia N8 to Galaxy Nexus after about 8 months. Went from Galaxy Nexus to S4 GPE after about a year and a half. It's been another year and a half and I don't see anything worth spending money on.

Oh, I forgot about your GS 4. From what I read, there wasn't too much of a difference between it and the new GS 5 anyway.
