I suppose most avid Apple iPhone users have seen the rumors of Apple developing satellites so they can become a wireless carrier. I hope the rumor isn't true, because it seems like the dumbest idea I have heard of in the wireless world. I have Dish TV and if there is heavy cloud coverage or a storm, you lose your connection. I have gamed online with people who have satellite internet and they have terrible lag. During a 10 minute match, their player will just float up into the air several time. Thoughts?
Honestly, I doubt Apple would try to deploy a satellite-based wireless service to compete with the cellular one. One look at https://www.bluecosmo.com/satellite-phones should make it clear why satellite phones are so not Apple So either the rumor is not true at all or at least incorrect with regards to what Apple has in mind. I wouldn't put it past them to enter the wireless market, just not via the satelliteā¦
I am not aware of this news, I don't think it will be a good idea to work on a satellite instead of working on having a 5G connection as Huawei has on their new smartphone.
Does Tim Cook have Elon Musk envy? First I hear Apple is looking into an electric car, and now they are thinking about space?
