I've been having trouble logging onto this site using AOL. After entering my username and password, I get a welcome message and and then go back to a screen that says I'm not logged on. When I use Internet Explorer, there is no problem. Have any other AOL users experienced this and does anyone know why it happens?

Has to be cookie related. You can try clearing your cookies in the AOL browser and make sure you check the box that says "Stay Logged In" when you log in.

However, I strongly suggest using IE or FireFox for your browser.

What about javascript on/off -- could that be a factor?

I don't think so. Could be a combination of things though.

I just loaded up FireFox, disabled Javascript, and was able to log in fine. I had the Remember Me box checked.

Does the software use IP addresses at all. An AOL users IP address can change several times in one session during peak hours. Kind of a rotating IP's "on demand" whenever you make a browser request. I had problems staying logged into the cpanel on my website because of that.(one reason I left) It also screws up banning them by IP address too cause it's always changing....

No, it's all stored in a cookie, so the IP doesn't matter.

Ok, it was just a thought. I've seen people on some forums wondering why they got banned and it turned out that was what happened.

Yeah, banning by IP doesn't work well for AOL IPs, since they're random and shared among many.
