Yes it is possible to set music as your ringtone. Your phone by way of your carrier (paying for the options to be turned on) or hacking the phone (by "Seem editing", that is turning on the options yourself) can play your musical ringtones. I've done the seem editing myself by following instructions given within the forum for the verizon v3m. You might also try going to hacktherazr.com and follow their instructions. They both work. You'll have to download various free update software and programs and once done follow step by step instructions. You can do it!

Have you seem edited your phone per the instructions at hacktherazr or instructions described in this website? If so, do you have the motorola phone tools software? If so, when you connect your phone to your computer and start MPT, are you able to click on and open the multimedia studio? I need to know all of this to help you further. In leau of this you might check out the sticky on this website for using your own music for ringtones. There is step by step instructions by expert Cincyball who has helped me in the past.

Yes I have MPT and I did the live update and it update the recent software. The problem that I am having is that my computer won't recognize the phone for some reason. When I connect the USB cable it says it found the hardware and when I try to install it won't search the right drives. I did try to install the motorola drivers but still it wont connect. Once I get on MPT the screen says Pleast wait....Initializing but it won't do anything. I do see the Multimedia Icon on the right side. I really want it to try by using the MPT because I know if I use P2K commander and if I don't follow the right steps I might get my razr screwed up as upon I read it in the threads on here. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing couple times but still won't connect. What to do?? I guess my last option would be bitpim or p2k but im not too sure about the Seem edits. =/ please helppppp!

Rather than try to go step by step with you, I'll refer you to the Sticky: Motorola Phone Tools Does Not Work With RAZR V3M within this website, where entries #21 thru #45 between Cincyball and another user takes you step by step through the process that you need to go through to make sure your phone is correctly recognized by your computer which will ensure the proper operation between your phone and MPT and even how and which areas of your phones programming to seem edit. Believe me, once you've gone through those entries you will no longer have any problems with MPT and will be able to edit Mp3 music and set it as ringtones using MPT''s Multimedia Studio. I know this because this is how I fixed my phone problems with MPT.
